“My husband and I have followed Michael Klement, the Principal at Architectural Resource, at the Ann Arbor home shows and remodeling tours for years. “We worked with Stan Monroe to design and build our home on land we had purchased several years earlier. Stan listened as we discussed how we wanted our home to work, and designed a floor plan that met our expectations in the contemporary style that we liked and that took into considerations the features of the lot on which the house was to be built. Interesting design features were incorporated as the design of the house evolved, and the result is a wonderful family home that is beautiful, comfortable and welcoming to guests. Any elements that exceeded budget were our own choices, and deadlines were met throughout the process. Some of my favorite design features are the ceilings, curved walls and the custom glass front door that Stan designed. He insisted that a glass door was the best choice for the front of out house. We did not like the front of the house being wide open to the street. Stan designed a sand-blasted pattern on the glass in the door that gave us privacy, and added a beautiful design element that echoed the other curves in the house. We have been in our home for 16 years and still love the design. The entire process was a pleasure.”
