“I am a retired Interior Designer and wanted to work with an architect who was up on the latest improvements in HVAC and plumbing. I had a pretty clear idea of the layout of our new house but needed help deciding on a contractor to hire as well as some creative structural details to make our 1800 sq. ft. single level home work for us as we age without looking like an "old folks home". Haven Design was instrumental in helping us select a contractor and we have been very pleased with the results.”

“Minh Ta was introduced to us by our builder to help design out family home in Kitsilano Vancouver. We were using another architect for our previous home builds but was recommended Minh because he had extensive knowledge in home design and architecture for new Vancouver home builds. As you may or may not know, the building codes in Vancouver unique, difficult to understand and interpret into real life designs without incurring subjective review of the City of Vancouver. Rules are ever changing in Vancouver and having a competent and experienced architect is key to successfully submitting and passing a set of plans for your dream home in an efficiently timed manner. Our application process to final acceptance was almost exactly four months which had blown away previous estimates of year to year and half (advised to us by other friends who had build recently). The reason for this quick turnaround was due to Minhès knowledge and ability to create our dreams in a passable set of plans under the current building codes of the times. Minh is highly informative, helpful, a great listener and I would recommend him to anyone hoping to build their dream home.”

“We so appreciated Rogers skill and creativity in both projects; his eye for detail and design are exceptional. Start of construction was July 30, 2015 and occupancy permit by March 9, 2016! Construction cost came in under estimate. We love this house and the way it sets on our site, with views of the Lake/River from first floor bedroom, kitchen, dining and family room; and second floor two bedrooms also have views. Kitchen has cherry custom cabinets and granite counter tops. Kitchen window to East has a view of the wooded hillside, and the daily turkey and deer processions going down to the Lake for a drink. Their inspector Burt arrived two days later, on time, did an efficient review of the roof, took pictures of the maintenance that needed doing, and I had a complete report in my inbox the same evening. Apparently roof inspections are not cheap, so prepare yourself.”
