1. Excellent client service - readily accessible. Even now - 5 years after he worked with us, we are able to ask him for input on some of his work.
2. Extremely trustworthy and reliable - this is critical for us. He's on OUR side.
3. Great ideas and high degree of flexibility. He was able to see spaces and options that we could not conceive of ourselves (and we feel we are quite design-savvy)
4. Very reasonably priced. We had approached companies and they had pricing based on the value of the potential project (and then tried to upsell designs in order to get to a desired compensation). I.S. Hernandez asked us what we wanted to do, and then designed several options - all based on time.
5. He comes with recommendations of contractors to work with. They are good, but you don't have to choose them. We chose someone different without any issues.

“Couture Design Associates was contracted to design a bungalow in the East Greenwich historic district, with the proviso that it appear as if it was built in 1910. JP Couture was creative with the limited space available for the project as well as the overall design. He took time to learn how we live, what we were seeking, and prepared an elegant design that included what we wanted and is perfect for our lifestyle. He participated in the entire process, from approvals to interior design, serving as a terrific negotiator, mediator, and advocate.

“Henry's strengths lie in the details associated with energy efficient building. He, in cooperation with our builder, was able to adapt our design ideas into a fully wrapped, tight envelope.
He is also a skilled designer but willing to let us take the design lead when it mattered to us. The plans on his website of our house are his but he drew up the variation that we asked for and makes us happy, even though it didn't follow the rules.
Adding insulation and stopping air leaks will reduce your energy bills and make you happy in the long run and Henry will help you make that happen.”

“Stephen did an outstanding job for our project. Our project was a significant porch tear down and reconstruct/enlargement. Everything was very custom, including layout, roof connection to main structure, footer supports, storage underneath, drainage, electric, materials, etc.
Stephen's drawings and materials were perfect and executed within the timeline required by zoning review for permits, etc. He worked really well with our contractor and other local city people that needed specific follow-up clarifications. Stephen made it really easy to make adjustments as appropriate as the project went on.
