“This is a review of the house design that Bill Chesshire did for me in Severna Park, Maryland. His design is unique in that it it a one story with high ceilings so the feel is great spaciousness. The master bedroom is huge with a walk-in closet that has plenty of hanging space for clothes. My main bathroom is completely functional with a walk-in shower with no step down. The floor just flows into the shower area. When guests step in the front door, they get the whole view at once, looking straight back to the huge, high kitchen windows, which also gives a person, a quick glimpse of the beautiful setup of the kitchen even before they get back to that area. I am so enjoying living here.”

“We interviewed several firms for our 3-story home addition. We chose Nugent for a few reasons. One, they don't beat around the bush. They are honest and work hard to stay within budget. In fact, we have several meetings before any type decision was made or money was exchanged to be sure the project could be done to both parties satisfaction. Two, as a design/build firm, it was so much easier to keep track of who is in charge of what and where accountability is. There's only one person managing your project... so it is super easy with Nugent to get answers and attention. Three, Alex, Nick, John and the entire Nugent team are so patient and talk to homeowners like equals. There weren't any terms that were over my head, and the design team was so good about walking us through every little step so that we were comfortable. Four, they got the job done on time and within the timeframe they quoted us for. These guys really know what they are doing. I can't wait to build my next house with them! I will say that Nugent is not the cheapest design build firm. But their craftsmanship is great, and they stand by their work. We look forward to our one-year check in with them!”

“Where to begin! Melanie Hartwig-Davis is an extraordinary architect. She has worked on a number of projects for us, including our kitchen, family room/bathroom, and an extensive project where she completely transformed the outside of our house by adding lighted flagstone stairs, custom-designed wrought iron railings and an outdoor deck/entryway that provided us with much needed additional living space. The kitchen she designed for us completely exceeded our expectations. Melanie is one of those rare individuals who is able to think like an engineer and an artist at the same time. It seemed as if she immediately recognized what we needed to do with our space. This required creative interior design ideas to accommodate existing conditions. In addition to serving as our architect, she guided us in selecting colors, lighting, and stylistic features. We had a small space in which to work. She designed a kitchen that was functional, had ample cabinet and counter space, and was visually impressive. We could never have reached such a successful result without her input. One of the aspects we appreciate about Melanie is that she cares. She respects the integrity of the space, the style of the house, and the architecture of the neighborhood. She truly wants her projects to add to the livability of not only her clients but also the community. She is environmental in her choice of materials, and as a result, has impacted all of our additional household decisions. When it came time to replace the siding on our house, we went with a composite siding because we knew that is what she would recommend. We have since moved to a new house and invited Melanie over before our own family. We have a number of projects we hope to complete in the future and we would never use anyone else besides Melanie.”

“My wife and I hired Peter to re-design our house on the Sassafras River. The re-design included an entirely new second floor as well as a total remodelling of the first floor. Completing this project was more difficult than might ordinarily be the case becuase of zoning and critical area regulations and my wife's disability. Not only was the design spectacular, but Peter was of great assistance in helping us comply with those regulations, choose a contractor and resolving the unforseen problems that are part of any major renovation.
