“I would highly reccomend Cathy Cherry. I had the pleasure of working with her on a house that she designed for Baldwin Homes for the Maryland Green Show Home. The area that I designed and furnished was the Kitchen, Eat-in Area and Great Room. I love how she designed the areas to be an open floor plan. I find that homeowners in this area of Maryland like open floor plans because it is a more interactive but, casual way of life. When I heard that Cathy was designing the home and wanted it to be a "tidal" home I knew that her style would fit hand in glove with my "Chesapeake Cozy" style. The architectural detail on the home was top notch. In my area, I particularly loved the strong columns. I repeated the detail in my custom built-ins flanking the fireplace. “Joe Mackin and his firm designed us the most beautiful new house. He designed an 1800's style, stone farm house look that is amazing. The attention to detail is incredible. People have been to the house and can't decide if it's just an old house that was added on to, or a new house. We have worked with a handful of architects over the years, and Joe, by far, has been the BEST. We also did not use a builder, my husband an were the general contractors of the house, which is approximately 7,000 sq. feet.”

Andy really listened when we described what we were trying to achieve with the new addition. His design matched the old farm house perfectly and we couldn't be happier with the result. Our house now looks like a classic old farm house but has modern amenities that make it a great livable space for our family.”

After seeing the house he had renovated for himself in Severna Park, we knew we had the Architect to design our cottage. “We discovered Laura Thomas of MelvilleThomas by seeing the great range of work & styles profiled on Houzz.com. We were so pleased to learn she was located nearby & understood the area when generating designs. Laura is an incredibly creative architect(and we have worked with others far less so in the past) who was very responsive to our questions, comments, and timetable. She took the time to try to understand both our needs & limitations, as well as our schedule. Laura came up with not one, but two, well thought out conceptual designs for our project. She was helpful in suggesting contruction & real estate professionals to help us achieve/evaluate our various concerns. We found Laura's artistic bent to be very useful for us, as non-architect consumers, in visualizing her design ideas. A picture is worth 1000 words! While we ultimately chose not to build, we would not have been able to make an informed decision without Laura's assistance. We do have her lovely conceptual drawings should we(or a future buyer) wish to go forward with the major addtion we had been contemplating in the future.”
