“We were very fortunate to find Teta Architecture and meet Allan and Amato Teta. We wanted to find an archtitect who would listen to our vision and who had the ability to translate our "dream" into reality and still maintain a targeted budget. Teta Architecture did that for us and more.
Allan has great listening skills and he exceeded our expectations when he begin to "draw" our dream house. It was very exciting to meet with him during the conceptual period and see our home evolve exactly like we hoped it would. His drawing ability and his knowledge of architectural styles was a real joy to observe. Our goal was a "Hawaiian Style" home and he really nailed it for us.
His father Amato was also instrumental in keeping us on track to meet our budget through "value" engineering during our design phase. His architecture and construction background was invaluable.
The results were a home that was better than we envisioned at a cost to build that fell right into our targeted budget.
Allan Teta is not only a great architect but a great guy! It was so nice to work with a man with passion for his architecture, but it was his concern for what we hoped to achieve in the home that made the process so easy and effortless. “My husband and I worked with FoxLin Architects on our custom ground up home in Carlsbad (north of San Diego), California and we would very highly recommend them. The home is now complete and it is remarkable down to the last detail. We felt like our values were always considered and we had countless conversations about even the smallest of details from paint colors to the cabinetry handles. At times we questioned the proposals and in the end we could see and now can understand their vision.
Juintow and Michael are both very talented, innovated and experienced architects, designers, and project managers who can easily show many iterations on the computer as well as obtain countless physical samples of tiles, stain samples etc. This level of personal dedication and attention to detail is what constantly put us at ease on the design of our new home.

“Architects Magnus provided architectural services in connection with the ground-up construction of an approximately 3,500 sq. ft. home in San Diego, CA. The husband and wife team of Hector and Pam Magnus provided excellent insight, progressive design and demeanor throughout the project. They worked well with city officials and construction professionals in order to effectively and efficiently work through various issues. They met all design related deadlines and completed their services within the budget.
Their considerable experience and knowledge was invaluable when it came to the implementation of a custom design with the maximum use of conventional construction techniques that were more cost effective than custom fabrication alternatives. Some examples include the use of stucco without color additives in order to mimic poured-in-place concrete and the use of an inexpensive torch-down roof membrane so that more of the roofing budget could be used for an inlaid tongue and groove ceiling made from sustainably grown hardwoods. This balanced approach between design and construction allowed us to maximize our budget by emphasizing those components of the home that give us the most enjoyment.
Perhaps most importantly, Hector and Pam understand people. They challenged our notions of what our home could be in a manner that gained our trust and allowed for a far more dynamic and interesting living environment than we otherwise would have had. The end result far exceeded our expectations. Thanks to Hector and Pam, the house, affectionately known as the “Jewell Box”, is not just a custom floor plan, but truly a custom home with unique elements designed to make the most of our living environment within the confines of applicable building codes, coastal commission requirements and our budget.
We love living in the Jewell Box that Architects Magnus envisioned for us.”
