I had a pretty clear idea of the layout of our new house but needed help deciding on a contractor to hire as well as some creative structural details to make our 1800 sq. ft. single level home work for us as we age without looking like an "old folks home". Haven Design was instrumental in helping us select a contractor and we have been very pleased with the results.”

“Minh Ta was introduced to us by our builder to help design out family home in Kitsilano Vancouver. We were using another architect for our previous home builds but was recommended Minh because he had extensive knowledge in home design and architecture for new Vancouver home builds. As you may or may not know, the building codes in Vancouver unique, difficult to understand and interpret into real life designs without incurring subjective review of the City of Vancouver. Rules are ever changing in Vancouver and having a competent and experienced architect is key to successfully submitting and passing a set of plans for your dream home in an efficiently timed manner. Our application process to final acceptance was almost exactly four months which had blown away previous estimates of year to year and half (advised to us by other friends who had build recently). The reason for this quick turnaround was due to Minhès knowledge and ability to create our dreams in a passable set of plans under the current building codes of the times. Minh is highly informative, helpful, a great listener and I would recommend him to anyone hoping to build their dream home.”

“We so appreciated Rogers skill and creativity in both projects; his eye for detail and design are exceptional. Start of construction was July 30, 2015 and occupancy permit by March 9, 2016! Construction cost came in under estimate. We love this house and the way it sets on our site, with views of the Lake/River from first floor bedroom, kitchen, dining and family room; and second floor two bedrooms also have views. Kitchen has cherry custom cabinets and granite counter tops. Kitchen window to East has a view of the wooded hillside, and the daily turkey and deer processions going down to the Lake for a drink. Rick & Tina Esvelt”

“When we decided to do a major renovation/reconstruction of our home we had nothing more than an abstract idea of what we wanted and the process seemed extremely daunting. We had heard wonderful things about Dave from friends, whose home is spectacular, and decided to contact Dave. Dave really listened to us and asked questions that clearly showed he was paying attention to our needs. He took our very abstract idea for our home and proposed inventive design solutions that we would never have imagined. Throughout the design and construction process Dave was extremely responsive, delivering drawings when promised and holding true to his commitments to us. More importantly he was respectful of our questions and immediately addressed any concerns that we might have had. Dave was always mindful of our limited budget, balancing our wish list against what the budget would allow. What seemed like such a daunting experience turned out to be quite wonderful thanks to Dave's extensive knowledge of architecture and design, his professionalism, and the ease of which it is to work with him. “We worked with Hólos Architecture + Design to do the interiors and aesthetics of our new home and were very impressed with the outcome. Rushika has an excellent eye for creative design, her attention to detail is impeccable, and she brings a modern aspect in her work, all within a reasonable budget. She has been intimately involved with every phase of the process, from initial layout to choosing a color scheme, to even picking fabrics for our new sofas. Rushika has made an effort to understand our needs, and listened to our inputs to ensure every part of the home reflects our taste. What particularly makes her stand out from the other designers is that she is also an architect. She posses a deep understanding of building structures, materials, scale, lighting, etc., and integrates this knowledge into a functional design. Her talent as a Photographer is a plus point! We were able to use many of her prints in different places of our home. Her photographs are stunning and capture beautiful landmarks that she has explored through her travels. Rushika is a complete package of talent and expertise. We would highly recommend Hólos for any home project, they will meet all expectations!”

“LOVE LOVE LOVE this genius of an architect/designer. She works magic and makes it look seamless Lee truly is a creative genius and besides that, she is a ton of fun to work with as she works her magic. Seriously, Lee has incredible vision and talent; and she is efficient and pragmatic. I have done two projects with her and love them both. I can't wait to do another one with her. She's the best. I am anxious to get images of her newest projects because they are inevitably spectacular. Her sense of aesthetics is amazing. Working with Lee is addictive!”
