“We had the privilege of being able to help design & furnish Insight Home’s latest model home in the community of Hawthorne, in the Georgetown DE area. Working with them has been refreshing, as they operate much more like a custom builder. They gave us tremendous creative license to suggest memorable trim treatments, super functional built-ins, and upgraded lighting to name a few. We enjoy the collaboration we have with Christopher and the result speaks for itself in their latest “Cartwright” model. It is a beautifully appointed “coastal” home with lots of bells & whistles, sure to attract a large audience of home buyers. You’ve got to go tour this home in person! They have raised the bar on what a well-built, energy efficient home looks like – and have won countless awards for their structural innovations in addition to offering the “best green-built homes” at a great value. It is in their “execution of the details” that sets this builder way above industry standard! We are really looking forward to helping them design their clubhouse planned for this community next year!

“Carl Deputy and his son Jeremy are building contractors who provide all the labor and material to build high quality large houses, commercial buildings or smaller projects. The team is composed of a network of individual contractors who are overseen by the Deputies-all of whom are skilled at their trades and who work with the customer in an accommodating way. They take every project and treat it as if it were their own home.
I would characterize the ultimate relationship between the builder and the customer as "friends". In my wife and my case we owned lake front property and wanted to build a home that would accommodate our needs well into retirement--we wanted an open floor plan capitalizing on views lakeside. We particularly wanted a deck railing that was "transparent". The builder worked to find a solution that matched our expectations including reordering windows that were without grids and wire barriers that replaced balustrades (which involved working with the building code administrators to satisfy their safety concerns). In the end we are happy with the resulting house AND the builder.
There are always add-ons and changes as well as rework that need to be done. Carl Deputy and Son have always responded immediately to our requests and with good humor and quality workmanship. As an example, I am an amateur furniture maker who wanted to use some old walnut wood that I had been hording for years. I asked the Deputies if their Amish cabinetmaker could build the cases and drawers throughout the house with my wood--I intended to build the doors later. That was beautifully done but now, a year later, my doors are still a future project. Everyone on the job knew the story--so now every time one of the workers comes into the house I can expect to be kidded by a smirky reference to the cabinets, like: "The house looks great, but (pause) wouldn't it look better with cabinet doors?"
I would recommend Carl Deputy and Son without reservation as a builder who can take on any project and complete it on time, on budget and with complete satisfaction to the owner.”
