With more than 10 years of professional design, landscaping, and gardening experience and many more as a hobby gardener and landscaper in the Twin Cities, CHW Landscape/Design owner Cathy Waldhauser is passionate about helping you make the most of your outdoor spaces. Initial consultation $100. Cost includes plants, other materials and installation in addition to design fees of $600-$1200. Plant material must be purchased through designer at retail prices and typically runs $2000-$5000. Removal and other prep costs will vary greatly. Client may self-install. Minimum budget for DIY $2000 (design + plants).

Project went well! Met with Cathy last fall for her to understand our vision, goals, etc. She delivered a draft plan with hardscape and landscape ideas. She sourced contractors for several options and got us prices. When we selected hardscape option, she worked with contractor to ensure project was on track. We made multiple design changes a long the way; it was an evolution right up to the day they planted. We were thankful for Cathy’s flexibility and changing perspective as project progressed.

Cathy provided comprehensive design service, supervised planting of large trees and shrubs and answered all our questions. The design won an award! The quality of plants was superb and she replaced the few that didn't thrive. She is creative, knowledgeable, flexible and really listened to our desires. No cookie cutter designer - your landscape will be customized and not look like your neighbor's.

Platinum Remodeling

We have used CHW on several projects around our house from a small landscaping project that we completed ourselves to a large planting project of around 200 plants and trees. The designs are very thoughtful and custom to our taste and we thought it was great that the plants selected are grown locally so they are perfect for our MN weather/environment. Cathy's follow-up and inspection of the plants to ensure they took root and are healthy was above and beyond. We are looking forward to working with her on a other projects in the future and would highly recommend her for anyone in need of landscape design help!

High Road Heating & Cooling

We are Do It Yourselfers however we needed a plan. Cathy was great to work with. She developed a design for our back yard that had plant selections and where to plant everything. We were able to purchase plants from your as well as get some from other resources ourselves. We did everything over a 2 year time frame and Cathy was there for us the entire time. She was easy to work with, affordable and resourceful. Plus, she really knows her plants for Minnesota for sun and shade. We love our back yard! Thanks, Cathy!
