Duke of Design

We had a completely terrible experience with this company and Ash. He repeatedly went beyond the deadline for no good reason, he would arbitrarily increase the costs of completing the works even though we had already paid everything needed to finish the job beforehand on top of any additional payments we made for additional works requested by us. The quality of some of the work itself was not very good (our wiring had to be redone by another electrician due to grounding issues that would have been a health hazard if left alone), some of the fixtures he brought such as sinks and other bathroom equipment did not meet our specifications, and even though he promised to replace them with what we wanted, he never did so and began demanding additional payment instead. Furthermore, we also wanted to instal a gazebo outside our home, which was a part of the original agreement for the works to be completed by the company ( which was already paid for) and he later on decided not to complete the work in question without once again demanding more money, and he did not justify why besides very vague references to COVID negatively increasing costs. In the end, what was supposed to be a simple remodelling job that was supposed to finish within a few months extended to beyond a year and a half, and costed us substantially more than what we were told by the company and Ash despite them not even completing the job, (our kitchen, electrical wiring and gazebo was left unfinished and we had to hire external contractors to complete them for us as the company would keep demanding exorbitant sums to complete what was already paid for!) Communication and customer service to resolve any disputes did nothing to help us with our issues and we were subject to harassment and insults through communications when we refused to pay extra. I understand that construction can have multiple outside factors beyond the control of a company that pushes back deadlines or increases costs, but in our experience nothing of the sort occurred which would justify the egregious delays and additional expenses levied upon us. I don’t believe, based on my personal experience, that this particular company will be reliable when it comes to completing simple remodelling jobs within the timeframe and budget agreed upon at the outset.

OMG, what a guy!!! Ash "The Duke" exceeded every expectation we had. We needed our hotel designed and refurbished within 2 months. We didn't tell Ash, but thought if he tell him 2 months; he'll get it done in 3 months. This guy actually got it done in 2 months, resulting in an extra month's revenue for us. In addition, our hotel is in great demand due to the design. Let me tell you, there are interior designers and then there is Ash...

We initially asked Ash to help us with two bedrooms in our townhouse but we were so impressed we ended up using her for the whole house! We found him really easy and fun to work with. They emailed across a number of comprehensive initial design ideas for each room and then worked with us to come up with a final scheme. Changing things or finding alternatives was never a problem and we felt that he wanted us to be completely happy with the end result, no matter how long it took. Ash listens carefully, so you end up with great designs and fresh ideas but the rooms still feel like your home. We liked Ash’s pricing transparency and he shares all her discounts with his clients, so it works out more cost effective. He also kept budgets in mind and offered alternatives at different price points which was very helpful. We very much enjoyed working with Duke of Design and we are delighted with the results. We found them to be very professional without being stuffy and we would thoroughly recommend them.

I am thrilled to have found Duke of Design I scheduled an appointment with them, after seeing their extensive and impressive portfolio, and fell in love with Ash’s energy and work immediately. I was sick of making costly purchases and mistakes, and the number of decisions, options, and vendors was mind numbing, and I didn't know where to start. One of my favorite things I did with Ash was picking out wonderful paint colors and wallpapers that really opened up and accented the space. The colors and accent wall colors she chose make my space look very clean, modern and architectural. I love it! Definitely a major improvement to my living space. Before deciding to hire Ash, I kept messing up and painting the walls over and over again, which was expensive, costly and annoying. Ash helped hone in on the style, and we also picked out the perfect furniture, accessories, lighting items, and floor coverings. I am 100% convinced that I got superior design and quality pieces, moreso than I could have picked myself. Ash thought of numerous elements that I didn't even consider and she really knows where to get the best items at the best prices. He is professional and courteous, as well as efficient and surprisingly very fair on the pricing.He took my opinions into consideration, and went above and beyond to make fantastic design choices. Everything turned out great! My house is now modern, luxurious and looks like a 5 star resort!Everyone who walks in comments on how incredible my place looks. I knew Ash was the right person for the job immediately.We loved his style. His signature are clean lines and a beautiful colour scheme. We renovated our entire house with a rear extension. Ash is one of the most calm and patient person you will come across. With construction being such a stressful time, a calm and cool headed person is what you need. I wanted to do a few things myself and Ash was extremely supportive and encouraging, offering words of wisdom and giving us some trade secrets *wink wink*. The end result is a house me and family are in love with.

They really took the stress out of the job and made it a pleasant experience. Highly recommend them for any refurbishment or home improvement.

I thought ARC was extremely professional in there design, planning and execution of the works we were involved with. You can usually tell by how quickly questions and minor changes are dealt with and they were seamless.

We have Hired Arc to design and build our new house and the work is on going at the moment. From the very beginning their team has been extremely professional, delivered drawings on time and the design is amazing. We love it ! They have involved us in every detail and educated us on many things that a common person is generally not aware of. Things like clients responsibility in CDM regulations, importance of using good quality paint, timbers, etc.

Ash and his team finished our project last year on time and on budget. They were a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to get their project done without hassles.
