My wife and I hired Maurice Scruggs to build a two car garage with an apartment on the second floor. This was the first time we have taken on a project like this, and we had a great experience from start to finish. The building is very solid and fulfills all our exceptions. We quickly learned to trust Maurice to make decisions about many of the details that inevitably arise during the construction. If a sub made mistakes Maurice would bring them back to correct problems and for most part get them to finish on time, during a huge construction boom all over Nashville. In addition the final cost of the project matched the original bid. If we were to build a home or an addition in the future we would undoubtably ask Maurice to build it.

Maurice Scruggs was our contractor when we renovated our master bedroom and bathroom last year. Maurice was very thorough, detailed oriented and was at the project daily, often multiple times during the day. We are very pleased with our new bedroom and bath and could not say enough good things about him. He was always kind and respectful as well. This was a breath of fresh air after talking with several unpleasant contractors. We got 3 or 4 quotes and his quote was comparable to the others. He also was pretty accurate in the end with this quote. We would hire him again without a doubt!

E.C. Scruggs and Sons repaired a marble bathroom floor and shower stall damaged by a hidden shower basin leak (result of a different contractor's work 10 years ago). Maurice was very professional in all aspects-especially explaining what was needed to correctly fix the problem. The job was finished on time and on budget. The work area was left clean at the end of each day. He found marble tile that matched the tile installed 10 years ago. He kept us informed as the work was done. We are very satisfied and recommend Maurice and E. C. Scruggs.

E C Scruggs and Sons did a remodel on a bathroom that required tile demolition, plumbing, and electrical work. Maurice and his team did an outstanding job. They were very efficient, always on time and kept mess to a minimum. Maurice was involved every step of the way and on top of things. He had good suggestions for details. I would highly recommend him.

Maurice Scruggs with E. C. Scruggs & Sons consulted with us on many projects around our home. We needed to: update our electric, replace and paint our the exterior siding along with the gutters, downspouts and porch columns, tear off and replace the roof, correct the brick around a problem window and replace an awning at our backdoor. A short time after our first meeting we received a detailed estimate. We were able to sit down, talk through each step of all the projects including our timelines and expectations. Maurice also gave us many ideas on detail we had not considered. As the projects began Maurice was on top of each step. He is very personable, he worked well with each crew involved and his eye for the little details added special touches to our home. We are so pleased with the outcome. Our overall deadline was met and we actually came in a little under the original bid.

Maurice Scruggs did an excellent job with a major remodeling of our kitchen, which included expanding into an adjacent room. His attention to detail, as well as his putting together a very professional and talented group of sub-contractors, resulted in our getting the kitchen of our dreams! Maurice was frequently on site, monitoring the progress and quality of the project, and always making sure that we were inconvenienced as little as possible. We can't say enough about how pleased we were with this project!
