Daniel Silvernail Architect, Inc. (DSAi) is an award-winning Santa Cruz, California based design firm recognized for it’s innovative work in architecture, interior design, sustainable practice, and master planning. We design buildings and spaces that are well crafted, meet our clients’ needs and aspirations, respond to the unique aspects of site and climate, and achieve high levels of environmental stewardship. We have been privileged to work with extraordinary clients on a wide range of new, adaptive reuse, renovation, and master planning projects. We embody an inclusive, collaborative design process resulting in built works that best serve our clients and are highly valued by their communities. Since our founding in 1997 more than 300 of our designs have been built in the Bay Area and Hawaii, from Burlingame to Monterey, from San Jose to Kihei, Maui. Most have been new custom homes and remodels. As homeowners ourselves as well as architects, we are very aware how important a home is to its owners. We understand the vital role the home plays as refuge from the cares of the world. One of the most exciting aspects of our work is that we are hired to design wonderful places for daily living. We do not take that responsibility lightly. We have developed and refined our professional design process to guide you towards your goal in the most systematic, straightforward manner possible. Our job is to facilitate our client’s design process by listening carefully, asking lots of questions, sorting priorities, and then presenting carefully thought-out design options enabling our clients to make the best, most informed design choices, design choices that result in light-filled, uplifting spaces that confer to our clients the tangible, value-added benefits of excellent design.
