We are a Residential Interior Design Studio with 13 years of experience in the Santa Cruz & Bay Area Design industry. With a background in the arts & love for color and textiles, I take inspiration from nature & local surroundings while catering to a wide range of styles, from the traditional to modern & contemporary. At Whitney Design Studios, we believe Design without passion & understanding is incomplete. Design is about more than just the task at hand. It is about the relationship with our client & understanding the complexities of your life in relation to your home & work space. We are passionate about helping you achieve your vision through beautiful, well-functioning interiors and outdoor spaces custom tailored to your lifestyle, with luxury & comfort woven heavily into the details. Whitney Design Studios will oversee and guide you through the process from your first design idea to the selection of contractors, artisans, furnishings, finishes and the building process. Whitney has an excellent sense of design and style. I have worked with her on multiple projects that had different style goals. She did outstanding work, from rustic to corporate to mid 20th Century, I got the look I wanted in each case. She doesn't impose her tastes on you, she gives you the pros and cons of various looks/pieces of the style you asked for, and helps you get something that looks great. And she can answer any question you have (Whitney, how far should the bottom of the picture be from the back of a sofa? Whitney, what's the standard height a nightstand should be?) She's easy to work with and the results you get are outstanding.

Whitney is fabulous. I was looking for a professional who could help me make decisions when attempting to remodel our new condo. She came to my condo numerous times and had very insightful ideas and comments. I also was able to contact her via texting and emailing when I was at a loss on what to do. She always responded very quickly helping me to make decisions. She also met me at a store one time and gave me good ideas, making my decision process much easier. Whitney designed a pergola for my house and it came out awesome. She's very detailed, respectful, professional and patient. I changed my mind so many times and she promptly made the changes to the design. She's very thoughtful in her design approach for you - getting to know you, your style rather than impose the latest design fad or her style.

Besides being a talented designer, Whitney was a joy to work with. She is able to truly understand her client while easily guiding you through the entire process. I hired Whitney to help with my first home- a fixer upper, but my forever home. I knew how I wanted my home to feel, but no idea how to do it. Whitney came in and turned blah and awkward rooms into beautiful, warm and inviting living spaces that function for me and my family perfectly. She carefully planned every exquisite detail and gave my home an underlying sense of sophistication that still fits into my busy life. The cares of the day vanish every time I walk through my door. I could not be happier! Additionally, Whitney worked very well with all the trades people on the job and made the job site calm and clean. She also excelled at picking out the perfect balance of color, texture and finishes for my mix of contemporary and traditional tastes. I love my new home, it finally feels like me.

I worked with Whitney Design Studios on the initial layout and landscaping for my art gallery. I enjoyed the process with Whitney, she's talented and easy to work with. We had several concept meetings, shopping trips, and installation days. All went smoothly, which I appreciated amidst the stress of opening a new gallery. Whitney Design Studios and I worked together this last May of 2015, on a commercial project. Whitney provided both design drawings as well as complete knowledge of the client for me to furnish the client with sample product. Due to her advanced work we were able to turn around a faster response of product to be used. The company worked closely with me on budget and design as well as timeline for project. The company was always available to me for any questions or changes. I really appreciated the complete dedication from them, making my job so much easier. Whitney Design Studios has been fabulous from beginning to end! I have never met a designer that is so committed to creating my vision for our home. She's professional, amazingly talented and listens to her clients...down to the last detail. My large living room and bedroom used to feel cold, busy and uninviting. Since Whitney Designs arrived, I love both rooms. They're warm, organized, relaxing and very welcoming. Furthermore, she is really easy to work with and stayed within my "single-mom" budget. The kids also love the vibrant colors & themes in their rooms. Everyone is happy. Thank you Whitney Design Studios!
