Beachy Boheme InteriorsThis charming kids guest room was design with fun and whimsy in mind. The client wanted to transform a spare bedroom into a guest room for kids. We achieved some fun and flare with a new coat of paint and Eskayel wallpaper to give the space character and movement. We furnished the room with a daybed that includes a trundle to accommodate two children. We added boho elements like a bright vintage Moroccan rug and mixed textures with pillows and blankets that have graphic patterns. The cave chair serves as a reading nook for bedtime stories and the mirrors on the walls add a bit of Middle Eastern flare. Photos by Amber Thrane.

California Closets Connecticut5. Dimension When it comes to design, vertical dimension, or the available space from floor to ceiling, is key. You can place curtains closer to the ceiling to make a room look much larger than it would with window treatments covering just your windows. When it comes to designing a closet, take advantage of all vertical space so that you not only get more storage, but you also open up the area to create the illusion of more square footage.

Habachy DesignsI love contrasting materials in my interiors (new with old, polished with rough, dark with light), because I think it makes for a more visually stimulating spaces. Here, we brought in the reclaimed wood as a rustic backdrop for the modern furnishings. We added the chocolate curtains to make it appear as if there were a window in the room and to visually frame out the space. The art work is by a good friend of mine, Todd Murphy.
Habachy Designs brought in all of the linens and kept it monochromatic with the textured shag area rug. Last but not least, I always love to select a sculptural focal point for a room, and thought what better light fixture for this space than the Taraxacum Suspension Light which was designed by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, 1960.
