A few years ago I had two single hung CWS hurricane windows installed in our bedroom. The material cost was a bit over $1,500. They are actually assembled in a single frame. Although they look good and operate easily they turned out to be garbage. After about a year the operable pane on the left window became cloudy. Obviously the seal was defective. CWS came out and replaced the pane, but only after I agreed to pay the labor charge. The warranty was still in effect but it only covers material, so beware. They charged $225 to fix a defective unit still under warranty. Then about six months later the fixed pane on the right window had the same problem. Again I contacted CWS through their distributor. Again they came out and replaced the pane but this time, after many phone calls and threats, they did it for free. There now have been glass seal issues with both windows. You could not pay me enough to have another CWS window installed in our house. By the way, we are planning to move and build a new home in central Florida. PGT Vinyl Winguard windows and doors is what we will be using. We could probably save some money with another manufacturer but is a few dollars worth the headaches? Not a chance!
