Guest Bedroom
Use string lights in the bedroom. Whether you choose plain white twinkle lights or mini paper lanterns on a string, fairy lights bring a magical touch to the winter bedroom. Drape them from the headboard, hang them vertically from a curtain rod or drape them across the top of the closet. Before bed put out all lights but the twinkle lights and candle, and revel in the ambience.
Not sure if that would be too much for such a small room, but it's an idea. Accent wall. If you have a small amount of paint and want to make the biggest impact on your home’s design, then an accent wall is your best bet. Choose a wall in your living room or master bedroom that you want to highlight, such as the area behind the sofa or bed. Once it is painted, hang coordinating artwork on the accent wall to finish the design.
Would a bookshelf be possible in there? Tall bookcase + hanging rods + wall hooks. A tall, shallow bookcase anchored to the wall provides ample storage space for folded clothes and accessories in this petite closet. Opposite the shelving, rods hold hanging clothes and a set of wall hooks provides a handy drop spot for scarves and jackets.
We applied flat battening at even intervals on the existing plaster walls. Holes filled, edges caulked and then painted the wall colour. The battening is available from any home improvement store. The paint color is Silver Dollar by Dulux, but on person thought it looked like Winter in Paris by Valspar.
Sherwin Williams Fleeting
Refined Aqua from Sherwin Williams
White with rug to tone it down.
Benjamin Moore Paints - Cloud White Like the pale green on the ceiling as well. Very calming. Not so much the orange. I do like the white nightstands with the dark bed.
The paint color is Sherwin Williams 6191 "Contented."
Paint one of the chests - maybe Mom's, maybe another dark, dark navy. Like the picture leaning on the chest - the blue and white pottery with two white vases. Wouldn't work without the greenery.
I like the plain un-duveted down comforter. Looks very plush. Also the sunburst mirror and the basket under the nightstand. If I used the bamboo night stand, that could work.
If your storage is already sufficient, choose leggy side tables to create a more open and airier feel. Being able to see more of the back wall will make the space feel deeper.
Use light airy curtains to make a small room a bit more spacious.
Large art in a small bedroom and light colors is one way to make a small bedroom look larger.
Beautiful white quilt, pillows.
Nice and serene. Like the idea of white bed linens, colorful throw with pillows that compliment.
Love the green paint. This could work. Maybe in either guest or master.
Paint one of the chests blue.
I've been seeing a few brightly painted blue chests. I am thinking about painting the Mediterranean chest a bright blue for the guest bedroom. This room has lots of wood, so thinking the bright blue next to the sleigh bed would work, especially with a brass/gold planter and the blue and white lamps. Or maybe the turquoise lamps with nicer shades. Or gold lamps with white accessories on the table. White carpet for sure. The more I think about the starburst mirrors on each side of the bed - the worse idea I think it is. The lamp would get in the way. Maybe wall mounted lamps? Too much.
This pillow from Company C - French Knot for $165. But could I embroider regular fabric to get something this cool? It would look fabulous on a white bed in the guest bedroom. Could do the rest of the room really inexpensively and then the $165 for a pillow would be the icing.
Again with the simple pillows not overwhelming a bed.
Like the simplicity of not too many pillows. Two pillows to sleep, two pillows for decoration, and one long bolster in a fun fabric. Nice.
Thinking about white linens for the bedrooms.
I wonder about the two sunburst mirrors for the guest bedroom, but I think the tables would have to match. Design tip: Use multiple mirrors on a wall in the place of art. A gallery of mirrors in different shapes and sizes can serve as a wonderful feature wall while helping the room feel larger. Or try placing an extra-large leaning mirror against a wall. Its dramatic size will make the room feel immensely larger and brighter.
Mirrors are your best friend in a small bedroom. A medium to large mirror can be placed just about anywhere — there are no strict rules. You might try one above the headboard or your floating dresser, on a wall that faces the bed, or as part of a mirrored closet door. The mirror will not only make the room appear larger, but it also will reflect whatever natural light you have.
Similarly, window drapery can be hung from the ceiling instead of on the wall just above the window. Hardware for most window treatments is designed to be flexible. So try turning the bracket up and installing it on the ceiling. The length and vertical lines of the drape will make the ceiling feel higher and the room larger. Here, the designer not only opted for a ceiling-mounted drape, but also carried the same bold color onto the ceiling itself, giving this small room a dramatic feature. If you prefer the look of a Roman shade, hang that from the ceiling. Pull the shade down just enough to cover the top of the window. This will elongate the look of your window and draw the eye up.
Hang It From the Ceiling In a small bedroom, you have limited surface areas. So get creative and look up to that oft-overlooked one: the ceiling. Hanging decorative items overhead not only frees up the area below, but also draws the eye up. This effect gives an illusion of greater volume inside a small room. Instead of using bedside table lamps, hang pendant lights from the ceiling. This creates a vertical line upward and opens the space below, making the room feel lighter, uncluttered and even a bit more styled.
Wow - is this soothing?! Love the white walls, lime green, but way toned down with the baskets, sisal rug and bamboo shades.
In thinking about nightstands to work with the sleigh bed, maybe a marble top something? In a way I like the openness of the marble and brass, but on the other hand also like having storage capabilities.
Wall color Behr After Rain
Now it looks hideous - too "baby" blue. Farrow and Ball Skylight.
Now Farrow and Ball Skylight looks gray.
Farrow and Ball Skylight.
Farrow and Ball Skylight.
This makes Farrow and Ball's Skylight look too dark and too turquoise. Definitely need a trial.
Farrow and Ball Borrowed Light.

The all-white peacefulness, shag rug, pole lamps, white curtains, and the black and white pictures. love the way they go from almost to the floor to the ceiling - great look.
Use black in some form. Not this pink, but the blue can look to sweet as well. For a lesson in using them without a candy-sweet effect, check out the Scandinavian aesthetic seen here. One of the tricks is to bring in touches of black.
Benjamin Moore's Quiet Moments
Nice mix of blues and greens.
Way to go green, without going green all the way.
I don't even know if this is working for me, but love the white painted bed, white walls, white nightstand, white lamp, but then the green pillows (could use blue as well) with the black mirror. Every room needs a touch of black?
Not sure if I'm that into the navy and white as opposed to serenity, but this is one idea.
Paint tongue-and-groove paneling white. It should be out of fashion by now. But there’s something inspiring about tongue-and-groove paneling’s long-standing popularity in interiors. This simplest of paneling techniques lends an instant laid-back beach-hut vibe, while pulling off the trick of seeming classic, rustic and quaint all at once. Here, the casually propped driftwood, rickety stools, striped cushions and vintage books create a relaxed all-at-sea atmosphere. And who knew beige floral curtains could look so charming?
I'm not sure this is what I'm looking for, but in case I am - like the deep navy. I think I could paint the headboard white and it would look better even if I use a different color scheme. Dive into ocean drama. It probably wouldn’t be coastal if blue and white didn’t feature somewhere. But one way to make seaside more modern and bold is by choosing a darker shade, such as indigo or navy. This bedroom is still distinctly oceanic, but the inky walls and bedding create a grown-up feel. The New England-style slatted headboard adds to the vibe.
I really like the idea of a very small desk as a night stand in the guest bedroom. Love, love the lamp. Like the pictures hung with clips.
They have this ginger jar print in navy - Willams-Sonoma Home Kind of like the green. Like the bamboo light fixture and the black and white tropical print. White floor, Wicker bed. White night stands.
The marble top was added on to the chest. Like the shape of it and like that it adds a lightness to the navy chest.
