I;m a little concerned that distressed white cabinets just look a bit dirty

This could be nice: beams and floor in this color; kitchen cabinets in a warmer mid tone; backsplash brighter. Walls in even a lighter wood? Could this make our furniture pop? Or is it too dark for this idea?

light tile backsplash could brighten the kitchen...hmmm maybe blackish counters on the outside, and light counter on island? Open to various ways to bring in the lighter color.
