The built in seating is a good use of space! I do like the idea of the glass but I think it will get dirty and annoy you more than you think.
This is cool and seems really child friendly ?
A faux plaster situation may lighten it up and look less industrial and rustic.

I like this for the short side closest to the garage. Like you can carry all of your meat, etc outside and set it there. Very functional.
I like the vertical tongue and groove boards for the appliance boxes
