ID10 Design History
Art Deco Art Deco is a popular design style of the 1920s and '30s characterized especially by sleek geometric or stylized forms and by the use of man-made materials. In this photo of a restroom you can see that there a lot patterns and straight lines in the tile in the bath tub and geometric design on tile flooring which gives it very sleek luxurious look. Also the 3 line design on the tile floor.
Gothic This area was inspired by the Gothic area by the tracery moldings on the fireplace as well as the tiled mural in the inside of the fireplace. The linenfold panels both inside the fireplace and the arch entry way which were used a lot during that time period. The hallway shows a pointed arch that is one of the common characteristics of the Gothic style. The room itself gives a very medieval vibe with the industrial chandelier.
Greek This image of fire place and lounge chairs are heavily inspired by the Greek era due to the fret work both on the throw pillows and moldings on the fire place not to mention the Doric work on the mantle above the fire place and columns. The chair also have somewhat of klismos style to them. Grecian styled interiors are simple, elegant, and functional which this are show much of.
Rococo The panel detail shell motifs above the armoire, asymmetrical curves on furniture, lots of floral detail on pillows and frames. Very feminine, bouquets and garlands throughout the whole bedroom, The fauteuil chair is very much inspired by the rococo era, the legs are slender the chair its self is wider and heavier the cabriole legs are on both the armoire and chairs.
Rome The moldings on the ceiling include a Guilloche and Rinceau from Pompeii along with human like figures that are inspired from the Roman area.
Q
