The sleeping area should be simple and austere... maybe a tiny bit wider than this for a little side table/lamp, but it wouldn't need to be much bigger where the bed is. There WILL need to be another area of the loft for closet/clothing storage and maybe small vanity; i.e. small storage/dressing area.
This floor.. yes. The lighting and white walls with height are great. I love the shelves to perch the works. I would love to be able to set up a few ongoing paintings that I can step back from, because I often am working on multiple pieces but just sort of tuck them around and in boxes, which stunts my progress and vision. Maybe there can be a feature on a smaller scale like this somewhere...
This is so close! I can see the loft extending further back over the bathroom, the kid area where these guys have their sectional and cubbies with the exit door under the ladder... or a big window to the outside under the ladder and the exit door to the right of the ladder. The large high windows is what I'm after, too.
I like atleast one or two windows to see out vs. just let in light. maybe a window like this could face out on the "mailbox" side of the house into the forest if possible while the high windows line the longer rear wall. A large window in the "kid" craft area and alongside of an exit door would also be great.
This has a lot going for it...it is clearly way longer than what I have to work with. I like the potential for the lofted bed area to be sitting over the existing bathroom to add space. The staircase can be more of a ladder or spiral staircase than this long clunky thing. The floors here are concrete and windows high. I hate the lighting, though.
I like how lightweight this staircase appears.
