Sculpture Titled "The Edge" 2009
The Edge is also another commission piece. The owner wanted a piece that was modern is styling but have a rustic look. We choose Corten steel to have the everlasting weathered look and to blend well with the grassy sloped hillside. So where did the design come from? I have always been fascinated with press brakes (A type of machinery that bends heavy plate). I wanted the look of a curvy plate with two bends like those found in a press brake. This made The Edge simple in design yet stand out while being conspicuous in its surroundings.
