Rustic Retreat
And Wow it certainly is!
The footprint of the kitchen was modified by removing a non-functioning peninsula, and staggering the depths & heights of the cabinetry along the walls. This enabled the addition of a large angled island with sink and breakfast counter. The holes from the plumbing lines were seamlessly patched & hardwood refinished throughout to look like new. In keeping with 'green' living, all natural materials such as granite, tumbled marble, and solid wood cabinetry were chosen as well as low VOC paint used. The old kitchen was disassembled intact and resold, & old furniture re-purposed.
