Northstar Remodel- Basque Lane
Home was in complete disrepair with the roof and multiple skylights leaking, interior finishes were several decades old and lacked an overall feeling of warmth. With the help of Marcio Decker and Betty Scott of Aspen Leaf Interiors, we redesigned the entire interior to give a contemporary mountain feeling, easy flow of traffic, and an ideal entertainment setting for our Clients and their guests. We reconfigured the Kitchen area which doubled the homeowner’s storage and improved layout. Removed existing bathtubs and transformed them into custom-tiled walk-in showers. We added new tile/stone/cabinets/fixtures throughout residence and retextured/custom painted from top to bottom. We integrated a great mix of ideas such as completely reconfiguring the master suite, replacing a masonry river rock fireplace with contemporary porcelain tile faced gas fireplace. We added a powder room for guests, closed off the door between the Entry and Kids bath, and added overhead lighting throughout. We opened the stairwell up by using a stainless steel cable railing system and utilized multiple barn doors on gliding tracks for increased access and fun design details. Materials such as cabinetry, flooring, stone, tile, countertops and hardware were supplied by Home Concepts of Truckee. With the completion of this remodel, the home now has a contemporary mountain atmosphere and will serve for entertaining both family and friends year round.
