My Designs
Living in the city often equals sacrificing square footage in your home. Who says that galley kitchens can't be amazing?!!?? Here is how to make your galley kitchen blow your mind.
1. Make use of vertical space - floor to ceiling cabinets.
2. The top half of cabinetry should be "open". Here, screening is used rather than glass front which could be too reflective in a small space.
3. Light fixtures - notice how your eye travels right through them, unimpeded to the mirror on the far wall?
4. Add a mirror on the far wall. :)
5. Wood floors installed horizontally so the length is less emphasized.
6. Move any appliances you can to drawers - microwaves, coffee systems, even convection ovens and warming drawers!
7. Go for a bold cabinet color. It is a myth that dark colors make spaces look smaller.
