Residential extension and refurbishment of Grade II listed cottage, Islington, London
The scheme involved the internal reconfiguration and extension of the Grade II listed terraced house originally built between 1839-1841 located in the Barnsbury Conservation Area of Islington.
Following a complex planning and listed building process with Islington Council approval was granted for the erection of a part single storey rear extension and a half width two storey rear extension along with internal alterations.
As part of the project the lower ground floor was excavated to improve the headroom in that part of the house. The design of the extension included a mixture of traditional and contemporary glazed elements including an oriel window.
