Neptune Swimming PoolsOur client had a large property in Warrandyte with Yarra frontage and wanted a pool for relaxation and entertaining that would reflect the natural beauty of their land. There was an existing mud brick hut with character that was being used as a woodshed. The hut provided an opportunity to design the pool around, with it being transformed into a studio/pool house.
A natural billabong style pool was designed to complement the existing landscape. Finished were all selected to blend with the natural colour palette. The pool is tiled with Bizassa Dehli glass mosaics that creates a natural dark green coloured water that provides a brilliant mirror to reflect the surrounding trees. Bluestone paving was hand cut and bull nosed on site to suit the unique shape. Natural rocks were used in between the coping to add dimension and enhance the rugged look of the landscape. One of the rocks included a feature that incorporates the sound of water running over the rock to add a tranquil ambience.
The pool has a large shallow ledge area at one end, the perfect spot for lazing in the sun, with several ledges scattered throughout the pool creating spots to sit and relax. The mud hut and paving are connected by a timber decking that has a lounging and outdoor dining area, making this space not only look amazing, but highly functional for the client. Further outlining the level of detail undertaken the pool fence was hand crafted from natural timber and wire mesh to create a farm style fence.
The pool is fully automated with an infloor cleaning system added to reduce maintenance for the client. It features and automatic salt chlorinator with chlorine and pH control to keep the water in balance.
One of the main challenges that presented itself with this project was due to its location there was a high volume of protected trees. Although a unique challenge, the team knew this project would look its best with the original landscape preserved, therefore gaining construction access required town planning permits and careful research and consideration of the trees root zones determined the shape and location of the pool.

Nature's TouchSeveral beautiful features make this jacuzzi spa and swimming pool inviting for family and guests. The spa cantilevers over the pool . There is a four foot infinity edge water feature pouring into the pool. A lazy river water feature made out of moss boulders also falls over the pool's edge adding a pleasant, natural running water sound to the surroundings. The pool deck is exposed aggregate. Seat bench walls and the exterior of the hot tub made of moss rock veneer and capped with flagstone. The coping was custom fabricated on site out of flagstone. Retaining walls were installed to border the softscape pictured. We also installed an outdoor kitchen and pergola next to the home.
Aquatic ArtistsAquatic Artists crafted this natural stone waterfall that cascades over a large pool grotto combined with an ultimate custom pool slide on a gunite pool in Bel Air, MD. The waterfall we built is 6’ high and the pool slide is manufactured by Dolphin. We also built natural stone steps that lead up to the slide and we placed accent rocks, a sitting rock, and planting beds throughout this water feature to tie in the natural look.

Aquatic Technology Pool and Spa75 foot long infinity edge pool and spa with moveable floors. In the up and locked position the surface is completely load bearing and indistinguishable from the surrounding deck. The floor can be stopped at any elevation from inches to 8 feet. The ultimate in energy savings, space utilization and safety.
Peacock PaversLarge format 24” x 24” square pavers in a diagonal pattern using Peacock’s Rice White color surround the pool. Living in the desert, this color choice was motivated by practicality as much as aesthetics.
“Being out in the Arizona heat – some days a hundred plus degrees – I was pleasantly surprised that the Rice White pavers did not hold any heat. We are able to walk on them barefoot. With almost any other stone or color, you would not be able to do that at all.”
