Native Edge LandscapeThese homeowners were looking to up their hosting game by modernizing their property to create the ultimate entertainment space. A custom outdoor kitchen was added with a top of the line Delta Heat grill and a special nook for a Big Green Egg. Flagstone was added to create asymmetrical walkways throughout the yard that extended into a ring around the fire pit. Four rectangular trellises were added along the fence and shed, with an all metal pergola located at the back of the pool. This unique structure immediately draws the eye and adds a playful, artistic element to the rest of the space. The use of various sized rocks, gravel, and flagstone give a rough texture that creates a symbiosis with the metalwork. Silver Falls Dichondra creates a beautiful contrast to the rocks and can be found all over the property along with various other grasses, ferns, and agave. A large area of gravel rests on the side of the house, giving the client room to park a recreational vehicle. In front, a privacy fence was added along one of the property lines, leading into a drought resistant, eco-friendly section of yard. This fence, coupled with a giant boulder, doubles as a safety precaution in case drivers miss the turn and run into their lawn. This updated landscaping adds an effortless flow for guests to move from the front yard to the back while creating a very open, welcoming feel to all who enter.

The pool was updated and the Corten steel arbor cleverly cantilevered on this 5 acre property. Using a crib wall system (Slope Block) allowed us to create lush terraces from toe to top - garden pathways lined with boulders create the illusion they were always there. The Slope Block was acid stained and planted so they eye can see just a hint of the bones through the lush California and Australian native plants and trees.

LiveWell OutdoorsClients wanted to create a design that really focused on the children. They wanted a hang out space for the kids so that all the kids want to stay over. They also want to enjoy watching their children play in the yard so an improved deck would be needed. There are many ideas for future plans. The first phase inlcuded a fence, patio, sports court and patio. The fence was black aluminum with gates. The patio is curved using Belgard Hardscapes rustic slab in danville blend with a laffit border in sable blend. The steps are Belgard belair wall in silex blend. The existing deck was torn down and removed. The new deck was constructed using Fiberon Horizon series composite decking with an Ipe inlay and steps; tudor brown for main deck border. The railing is white vinyl with round black balusters. A EPDM liner drainage system was installed below decking boards and ran into a gutter. The asphalt basketball court was installed and painted green with white striping. All in all a wonderful space for family and friends.

UserA scheme comprising a shared garden for residents of newly converted flats in Ealing, West London. Alexandra's scope also included design of the front drive, an inner courtyard and small roof terrace.
A bespoke concrete seating area was cast in-situ and incorporates a generous planter filled with grasses interspersed with Taxus baccata domes. The client’s love of olives led to beds of young trees underplanted with Mediterranean species such as Lavandula and Santolina sited both sides of the lawn.
Another stipulation of the client’s brief was that the garden should include an outdoor lap pool. Alexandra’s design incorporates turquoise mosaic tiles internally along with a bullnose Yorkstone coping. A summer flowering Cornus florida f. rubra was selected to provide beautiful colour alongside the pool in the summertime months. A row of tall Betula amongst herbaceous planting sit on the rear boundary of the garden to screen the train line behind.
