Rainwater is celebrated as the focal point in this backyard garden. The angled deck provides enough space for a morning coffee, then transitions down onto a natural stone patio for large gatherings. A deep plant bed was created against the garage to showcase plant textures and soften the patio space. The curved edge of the patio mimics the irregular shape of the corner rain garden, with a gently sloping lawn in between the two spaces. Natural boulders form the edge of the rain garden, while swaths of rushes and other water-loving plants provide all season interest.

Its placement on the hillside across the driveway for the house provided a perfect setting to make a dramatic impact. The variety of small and large waterfalls helps provide scale and interest, along with making different sounds as the water crashes over the rocks to fill the air with a fabulous ambiance. ¿Qué tipos de jardines hay?

Se pueden clasificar teniendo en cuenta diferentes aspectos: quién lo usa, qué tipos de plantas hay, qué estética predomina, etc. Además, un jardín no tiene por qué estar solo compuesto por especies vegetales, sino que también es común encontrar fuentes y esculturas. Todo depende del gusto del consumidor. Es decir, de quién viva en esa casa con bonitas vistas y jardín. Estos son algunos de los más populares:
  • Jardines verticales: se trata de instalaciones en vertical cubiertas con plantas de diversas especies.
  • Mediterráneos: cálidos y secos, basados en las plantas de esa zona. De fácil mantenimiento.
  • Aromáticos: abundan las plantas con agradables perfumes con la intención de crear un efecto sensorial.
  • Japoneses: las rocas son el elemento base, pero también lo son los puentes, las islas, las casas de té, etc.
  • De macetas: las plantas se cultivan solo dentro de contenedores. Un jardín de este tipo difícilmente tendrá malas hierbas.
  • Zen: consisten en un campo de arena poco profunda y están ligados a la meditación.

¿Cómo decorar un jardín?

Como se ha dicho más arriba, hay diferentes elementos decorativos que pueden resultar buenos aliados para tu jardín. Todo dependerá del espacio que tengas, del mantenimiento que recibirá tu jardín y del gusto personal de cada uno. Las personas a las que les gustan los jardines minimalistas, por ejemplo, tienden a no recargar el espacio. La iluminación es muy importante. Si no colocas ningún foco, el jardín solo será visible de día y eso sería una lástima.
