California Eco Design, Inc.
This is a Roberto Burle Marx- inspired design, a drought tolerant landscape that imitates the vibrant colors and patterns of the tropics. We kept the monstera and bird of paradise plants, and with the colorful trim on the house, it all works together in this eclectic mashup.

Chiltern Garden Design
Chiltern Garden Design were approached to create a new planting design to completely transform this internal courtyard space at Amersham Hospital.
Using a lush palette of textural and coloured foliage plants, we brought to life this mostly shady space, and created a haven for the nurses and staff to relax and get time away from their busy NHS jobs, as well as a haven for wildlife.

This garden in Irvine needed a refresh. There were lots of tired plants that needed to go and lots of potential to add some pizzazz without breaking the bank. There also needed to be some way to get in the back from the side, which was done with a flagstone path to match the existing flagstone. Lake State Property
During 2020 many of us were hit hard with Covid-19. This particular family had wedding plans to hold the ceremony at their home. And they had a small budget, instead of spending thousands of dollars on bouquets, they opted to have permanent landscaping put in. The hill slope was of particularly difficulty given the grade, but we were able to obtain the perfect setting to match a modern fountain that they were debating throwing away. We were able to convince them that by removing the grass in the bed around the fountain, we could dress the entire section to become a distinct focal point of their backyard and still keep the design low enough to the ground that the lake view wouldn't be obstructed. The natural colors of the flowers and the selection of rocks suit the lake sunsets beautifully. Unfortunately, they were not able to gather in full, but the family loved the landscaping even though.

This inviting and romantic cottage garden is full of delight and unexpected details created from a lifetime of collecting things that might come in useful. It was edited, reorganised and partially redesigned to create an exciting yet calming space.

This very small water feature blends into the natural, woodland environment of this small townhouse yard. Yet it provides so much ambiance and relaxation while the pleasant sound of the water drowns out the traffic noise nearby. The water recirculates and is stored underground thus keeping evaporation, bug, & algae problems away.
Jennifer A. Emmer/Feng Shui Style
These were some poppies we spied at the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens. This landscaping provided some of our inspiration.
For our client, we took their small, dismal garden, and Feng Shui'ed and completely redesigned it. The theme was a xeriscape - with drought tolerant, native species to California. Jennifer designed the Feng Shui aspects of the garden, and Briana Lyon provided the horticultural knowledge. We also designed their atrium to be an indoor/outdoor space with plants, and seating areas.
Our clients (and their dog) love the finished product. Now they have strawberries, and artichokes coming straight from the garden. They also get a fair amount of hummingbirds visiting their fountain. This is an eclectic space, which colorfully pumps up the Feng Shui of the homeowners, while giving them a zen place to relax.
