Quizá ya te la has imaginado y has decidido que la pintarás de color amarillo, pero algo más importante que la decoración son los elementos clave que toda habitación de bebé debe tener. Además de los que te indicamos ahora, no te olvides de cosas prácticas como tener una papelera cerca o una luz tenue para cuando tengas que ir de noche. Queremos que el cuarto del bebé sea bonito, pero ante todo funcional.
  • La cuna: esencial para que el bebé duerma tranquilo. Es importante que sea resistente y segura para evitar accidentes. Fíjate en que esté homologada. Es recomendable comprar una grande que le pueda servir hasta los dos años. Existen modelos convertibles en cama, sofá e, incluso, escritorio.
  • El cambiador: si existe un problema de espacio, es mejor comprarlo con bañera. Es necesario para cambiarle los pañales con comodidad y en una zona controlada. Para que no quede obsoleto a los 2 o 3 años –porque ya no habrá que cambiar más pañales– una buena idea es que se pueda convertir en otro elemento útil al pasar ese tiempo.
  • El armario: en algún lugar hay que guardar toda esa ropita. Asegúrate de que tenga cajones. De hecho, los primeros meses te bastaría con una cajonera.
  • El sillón o mecedora: si vas a darle el pecho, valorarás tener una silla cómoda. Si no, siempre te será útil para leerle un cuento o simplemente para cogerle en brazos.
  • El baúl para juguetes: es mejor tener la habitación despejada, así que un lugar específico donde colocar los peluches y muñecos es más que práctico.

Aunque lo más habitual es pintar el dormitorio de un color claro para asegurar un sueño apacible al recién nacido, hay personas que prefieren arriesgar con colores más subidos para darle un toque más actual. Por su parte, los vinilos de pared están muy de moda y son una muy buena opción de quita y pon. Ideal para cuando crezca el niño o niña y se empeñe en que no le gustan esos animales tan simpáticos que escogiste. Quedan muy bien las luces de pared con formas infantiles y, además, crean una atmósfera muy agradable. No te olvides de colocar unas cortinas para controlar la luz natural directa.
