A white washed version of our best-selling Chateauneuf bed, taking design inspiration from the Rococo style made famous by Louis XV, the Whitewash Chateauneuf Rattan Bed is the perfect blend of French styling and laid-back luxury.
The frame of this rustic French bed is hand-carved from reclaimed solid mahogany, has a curved headboard and footboard with double-layer rattan, and delicate cabriole legs that give the bed a graceful style as well as demonstrating the high quality workmanship.
We love the scrolls on the sides of the footboard and headboard and the gentle scalloped side rails, all finished in a very pale distemper that just gives the bed a slightly paler hue than the natural wood underneath.
Because wood is a natural material it will expand and contract depending on the heat and humidity of the room in which it is placed. This can result in cracks forming, which are not considered a fault - they are simply the movement of the organic wood and serve to exemplify its natural beauty.
Thanks to its neutral colour palette, this French rattan sleigh bed will sit beautifully with every colour scheme you might chose over the years. We have styled it three ways: with gorgeous greens, calming pinks and nautical blues.
