Kitchen Backsplash Help!

My husband and I have been working on our kitchen for quite some time and we just can't figure out how to make it look cohesive. We have white cabinets, stainless steel appliances and bainbrook brown granite countertops. As you can see right now we have stainless steel 2in x 2 in backsplash tiles and a grey paint on the walls. I hate it!

I want to repaint the walls in Polar Drift by Behr. It is much lighter and has a hint of blue. (The room gets no natural light). We want to get rid of the backsplash tile, we cannnot figure out how to cut the tiles and there is entirely too much grey and metal in the small space! our problem is that we can't figure out what will look good with the granite. Please help!

Pick a simple small solid white (same as cabs) or beige/biscuit (from counter) colored tile. Take home samples to see how the colors will look together (in both daylight and late nights with the lights on).

There is definitely gray in the counters, but there looks like quite a decent warmer color range to work with as well. I'd say try to aim for something more subtle in finish. I would move towards a bigger, more open pattern. You don't want a small, busy tile pattern to fight with the tighter pattern in the stone. Perhaps a painted tile with warm tones:

Gm everybody, My wife and me are trying to design our new kitchen, and we are a bit concern about its location in the house. This is a DIY project, so we are looking for opinions. As you can see in the picture, we are creating the kitchen room at the left bottom side and keeping a garden at the left upper. Our first idea was to locate the kitchen close to the living door (upper in the picture) but we would like to mantain the garden. Thanks in advance for any kind of help!! Rodri

Due to a leak I need to repaint my kitchen, and surrounding walls which leads eventually to my living room . I need HELP to find a color that compliments my CREAM Kitchen cabinets and the living room color which is BERKSHIRE BEIGE. I think I want shade of white to brighten up my kitchen and family room and hopefully compliment the Berkshire Beige (BM paint color).

A travertine 4x4 in any of the cream shades, such as Cordoba Cream, or Ivory, will look awesome. You already have a busy pattern in the Bainbrook Brown countertops, so the neutral beige shade of the travertine won't class with it. You said that the room wasn't very well lit, so the light color of the stone tiles will brighten things up a little bit. Also, tumbled travertine always adds a very classic feel in a backsplash. The picture below shows a brick pattern travertine. Disregard the deco liner!
