Window Treatments for a Beginner

I am a first-time home owner, and I’m ready for window treatments that are more than ready-made curtain panels from the grocery store, i.e. ready to invest in beautiful treatments that will last. I also have decision fatigue! Help me out! We are in a rural area. I know I don’t like modern/sleek styles. I’m taking down all the corded blinds as we are in toddler years. The big picture window is the living room looking out to the backyard. The bay window area is our dining area off from the kitchen, and it has me wondering what to do with the back door window, as well. It is not open floor-plan, but you can see the loving from the dining area, so do I have to “match”?

I would suggest doing a roller or roman shade on the windows, both options are available cordless which is a great with the kiddos. The roman shade may be a better option if you're not into a modern look and it will finish off the top of the window beautifully. If the rooms are close I would say to coordinate, but they don't have to be the same treatments. If you're interested give your local Budget Blinds a call, we do FREE in-home consultations!

They don't have to match, but they do have to co-ordinate to look their best.

I'm in rural western Canada and don't have any good shops near me (or even in the nearest big city). I always liked Country Curtains, which have been picked up by The Vermont Country Store. Have also had good luck with various sellers on Etsy, and even blinds (dot) com for patterned Roman shades and also matchstick blinds.

Do you want curtains or shades? What's your style, and what do the rest of the living room and dining room look like? Do you like color? Pattern?

Entendí jejee, qué bien que el ángulo era correcto! No había considerado persianas, realmente, estoy mirando las opciones, y creo que me iré por ahí, con unas beige o crema muy bonitas que he visto. Sobre los muebles, vamos a renovar el sofá, no negociable con mi esposo, porque fue el único que tuvo el nivel de confort que le resultara (jugador de playstation...... ) Tengo un rack para la TV bajo, color nogal, que si no queda bien, cambiaria por uno que vea combine mejor, y tenia pensado incluir esta poltrona en un lateral:Y como accesorios adicionales: Variante 1- Una lampara de pie de un lado y un mueble tipo estante ligero como este del lado de la puerta de entrada Variante 2- Mesita ligera, igual onda la que se ve en la foto esta, o en la del sofá, de ambos lados, o manteniendo lampara de un lado y mesita del otro.... Sobre el color, estuve mirando con su recomendación, que me gusta, esta combinación, no se ve bien en la foto, la verdad... Bueno, eso :D, espero sus recomendaciones!!! muy agradecida! Yude

I agree with some of the above comments. Cordless shades are a game changer with kids. It's so nice not having to worry about dangerous cords with little ones. Hunter Douglas honeycomb shades or roller shades are super popular with kids because they are easy to use, really durable, and bring a nice design into the space.
