Any ideas for my hallway and stairs

I would like to decorate my hall stairs and landing .. not long had the carpet down on the stairs but I would like some ideas how to make this space look nice.. Thank you

    I think it just needs painting and warming up. The floor, white floorboards is cold, the walls are cold. You need better lighting.

    I see you love grey, that's good, but team it up with a warm wood, warm greys or pale mustards and the grey ceases to be cold.

    Move the mirror to over the radiator cover. Possibly team up with a grey and mustard runner.

    Grey and Mustard work well on wood.

      Naomi, from your photo it's not clear what colour your stairs carpet is. Is it a kind of brown?

      Maybe you can take another photo and 'zoom' on the carpet so it will show it better.

      Thank you.. you are right .. I need to warm it up.. Thank you for the ideas .. I defiantly need to go along these lines and good idea about the mirror .. I will do that today

      The space at the top of the stairs could be a place to create interest. First thought is a long mirror could help reflect light into the stairs, but a full mirror might be overwhelming on the ascent up the stairs! Reflective wallpaper might be an alternative as it doesn't appear to be a large area...

      The gray background would work in with a gray theme...

      The houzz app has a sketch function. I took a screen shot of your hallway pic at full size, saved some images from the web and was able to use the sketch app to insert and overlay into your pic. Only taken me a couple of years of using houzz to figure it out!!

      Another variation on the reflective finish could be mother of pearl.

      There is also a paint which gives the mother of pearl effect, I'm wondering what it would look like over a warm gray? Internet search shows mostly over whites, golds....

      I may be biased but I would ditch the radiator cover for a fab column radiator ;)

      that looks good actually .. my husband if he had his way wants to change the radiators to the tall standing ones lol
