    Thanks for writing, and that's a good question. Please note that if our waste does not fit you may return for a full refund as per the houzz return policy.

    Beware, the physical sink-hole size and sink's pipe-size are often two completely different things and it's rarely clear on the sink maker's literature. It could be that your sink is made for a 1.5" drain and that will have a 1-3/4" nominal physical hole in the sink. Our drain requires a minimum physical hole size of 1-5/8" diameter in the sink and most sinks these days are about 1-3/4".

    Please be sure to carefully measure or inquire as to the actual hole size in the sink you are considering. Most sink maker's literature has the pipe-size listed not the hole size. Pipe-size is normally for drainage calculations and is used by designers to satisfy the plumbing code requirements for water-flow and is NOT the physical hole size. For instance, a pipe that is called a 1-1/2" pipe is talking about the nominal inside-pipe dimension and the outside of the pipe is thicker by the thickness of the walls of the pipe.
