Black toilet or white?
I'm doing a very small powder room in black. The ceiling and trim will be Pure White. The floor is natural concrete. The vanity is also black and I have a vessel sink that has a vibrant metallic aqua sheen. Chrome Charlotte faucet by Brizo. I have a crystal chandelier above the sink and I'm hoping the effect will be that the sink and faucet sort of glow under the light. The question is: White or black toilet?

(6) comentariosHola JONAS: Personalmente lo veo un poco cansino, para el día a día. Lo que está de moda y eso quiere decir que pasará de moda, es el pavimento hidráulico, pero lo que tú pareces querer, se haría alternando losetas de cualquier marca de grés o porcelánico, que tenga en catálogo, blanco y negro. Si como dices, es ambiente abierto, no comparto la idea de confrontar el ajedrezado, con madera, por oscura que sea. Te puede quedar un "parche" como inconsciente, luego hacerlo a propósito, sería para mi un error. Si tienes pensada cocina blanca y está unida a Salón, ya he comentado ésto a un consultante de aquí. (Puedes leer lo que le puse a MAMUCHI) Te estarías metiendo en un embrollo complicado, desde el punto de vista del estilo. De todas formas en interiorismo sobran recursos para reconducir errores y todo es relativo. Por eso te recomendaría que colgases un plano o croquis, acompañado de fotos, si ya hay cosas definidas que ver, aunque no parece tu caso y creo haber entendido, que estás en fase todavía muy embrionaria. Se me ocurre una opción de efecto asegurado y ajustada a tus parámetros. Puedes ver una buena colección de suelos cerámicos - España es lider mundial en esto - y decidir todo el pavimento de éste material: GRIS claro en cocina, incluso veteado madera y NEGRO tipo pizarra, en zona salón. Luego tienes que aceptar rojos o naranjas....o incluso rosa palo, que es "tendencia"....Ver másPisos negros
(20) comentariosEncantadora e ingenua pregunta la de María Antonia: Me has hecho sonreir. Menos nosotros las personas, casi todo lo de la Naturaleza, vale para exterior. Especialmente las piedras de todas clases, que se formaron hace miles de millones de años. Las piedras preciosas como diamantes, topacios, esmeraldas, rubíes etc., tambien valen, pero una vez encontradas, donde mejor están es en joyas adornando bonitas mujeres y engarzadas en oro. Hay hasta madera fosilizada, que se ha convertido en pura piedra. No sé ahora la diferencia geológica, pero yo pido cuarcita paletizada, cuando quiero el color de las fotos que muestra AB Estudio. Tengo pavimentos y chapado de frisos en fachadas, hechos con este material eterno, que a veces sólo se exfolia un poco, pero no él sólo, sino a base de golpes. PD. Better yet, do a wall mount faucet. pain in the butt to clean behind a vessel sink w/the faucet.
what will the countertop be? prob black if everything else is black.
And don't tighten the drain cover too much on the sink! never heard of the exploding glass thing, and I've had a few of the vessels. Hopefully OP is using a reputable maker.

Oh no. The Charlotte is beautiful. And it's chrome, not nickel. It will add some sparkle.
The counter will be Volga Blue.
I do want men to be able to - ahem - find the toilet.

ah, ok. did you say the walls will be black? and gray cement floor? polished?
I'm thinking white toilet now. otherwise, I think it will look like a black hole.

hace 6 añosI recently posted as well about my tempered glass vessel sink that spontaneously exploded... I was right next to the sink when it happened, the explosion was pretty forceful and pieces of the glass tried to imbed into my skin, fortunately the cuts were fairly minor and healed quickly. The glass shot out over 20 ft into my foyer when it happened.
The company that manufactured the sink was great; there was a warranty on the sink and they normally would replace it but I understandably didn't want a glass sink anymore, so they are sending me a vessel sink from their stone collection that is supposed to arrive in a few weeks.
Anyways, we have a lot of dark charcoal/white in our powder room (the sink was the pop of blue and it was beautiful imo) but we went with a white toilet even though the other fixtures were matte black. The toilet doesn't look out of place in our opinion. You can see the edge of it in the photo... the dark tile behind it goes all the up to the 9' ceiling and has 3 walnut shelves with mostly decorative items on them. (I still have a pop of blue in a large glass item on the top shelf, but our replacement sink will be a white matte stone/resin mixture. I'm going to miss how that blue sink looked, but I'll never have a glass sink again...)

skmom,,,wow. unreal. I've never seen that. I had a beautiful, hand blown vessel sink for almost 10years. i wonder if that process is safer. Too bad you're getting a new one already. This artist is in Denver and does beautiful work.
