Type of mirror

Looking to do a mirror splash back in kitchen and one at other end of room at bar area in dining room. Have a modern taupe kitchen, but an old dining room antique table. Should I go for plain mirror or smoked mirror. Don't wait it to look too pimped up?

    Hi Mariet,

    I'd go for the plain mirror as you already have a modern kitchen in contrast with an antique table (which is great by the way, I love mixing up styles, it adds character to the room!)

    Plain mirrors are always a winner as they go almost unnoticed but still add that extra factor to the room.

      I agree. Plain mirror. Can I also suggest you think about the angle of the sun and internal lights. The mirror splash back can be a lovely feature but if the sun (depending on time of day) or internal lights reflect off it straight in to your eyes when cooking it could become a nuisance.

      Hi there! How about antic mirror splash back? Will look great with modern kitchen and you will have a connection with dining table.

      I would suggest antique mirror also. It will add more interest to the room!

      I'd play with some samples first. How about bronze mirror.
