Need help with curtains

Hi, I've just bought my first house and I'm slightly overwhelmed!
I've painted my living room in dulux Georgian cream (you can see the colour in the photo behind my half built ikea billy bookcase!) and I've bought a stone coloured leather couch (no photo unfortunately as yet to be delivered) but now I'm afraid it's all going to be a bit bland.
The photos below show what the room used to be (cream curtains and yellow walls).
Would anyone have any suggestions for curtains for my patio doors? I think I prefer the eyelet type of curtains but I'm so new to this I'm not sure what I like. Any advice appreciated!

hace 8 añosHi. It looks a lovely room. I would go for something in the ŵall colour so as to maximise light. Eyelet ones would look good. I always like silk for something simple but elegant. I'd hang the curtain pole a little higher too. I'd add the interest in art and accessories. Shades of blue look lovely with stone.

(3) comentariosHi Cristina, your table looks very beautiful however I discourage to have such furniture at home because of the mirrors. I work as a feng shui consultant and I know that the mirrors have some kind of power and one should be very carful placing them in the house. My personal opinion is to have a mirror in the place where the mirror can´t see you while you are resting or sleeping because in long term it can have negative influence on you. The mirror was created to look at it and it shouldn´t be used extensively also because of the reflections of the light. The human eye naturally is used to see the light coming from certain directions, if it comes from the direction which is not used to the light, especially artificial one, it may effect your vision or have negative influence on your mood. I'm talking about something very subtle which sometimes may be felt after some time. Another thing is that I always encourage people to don´t use repetitive patterns in the house just simple irregular forms and calm and worm colours which make the space more cozy and more natural. If you need more help with the rest of your house please let me know. I could make a 3d visualisation of your place to shaw the layout. However, at the very end, he recognised an error on the final total, and explained that if I add up all the individual items, it totals 50.000. I understand, but he knew my budget was 40.000, and now because the work is finished, I can't even remove or reduce any of the work. hace 8 añosHello there... I hope I can be of some help as I have almost an identical sitting room - I will just share with you my sitting room this year!! All the walls started out in Dulux Timeless colour so I wanted to add an accent colour- like you, I have one end of the room that is patio doors. So the opposite wall to those, I chose as an accent wall - I know a lot of people suggest not having an accent wall but perhaps having horizontal painted stripes of colour etc... But as I was doing the painting, I knew I would have made a real hash of that!! So the third pic is my first attempt at an accent wall - The Greene Paint company - colour Bassalt. This was nice but I just got bored of it - it worked well against the richness of the wood floor etc and was very much a statement but in a few months I just couldn't settle with it. After several coats of white I have now settled on Farrow & Balls colour Lamp Room Grey. I know this seems all very neutral, but from the second photo you will see I have gone for cream curtains with neutral vertical pom-poms - but, by doing all this, I can now change the accent colour in this room at the drop of a hat and quite importantly - INEXPENSIVELY!
For instance, if I wanted to, for Xmas, if I was going to spend a lot of time in that room, I could
a. Go for red and cream cushions and create a Scandinavian look!
Or
b. Go for silver beaded cushions and silver candle jars and have a winter wonderland look!
And equally in the summer, I could go for pastel pink floral cushions and a vase of delicate roses to bring the garden into the sitting room or just keep it neutral with ivory roses and a hint of lime green.
So my advice would be to keep the expensive things neutral and then you can alter the in expensive things as you go along. I also think one expensive piece in any room is a good investment - be it a huge oversized pewter bowl or a something similar - that again is neutral in colour but is a statement piece.
