Should you PAINT stucco? What's the best way to change stucco color?

Should you use stucco paint on exterior of a stucco home you want to change the color of (Behr stucco paint or something similar)? Should you re-stucco? Or, should you use a stucco/cement stain? What is the BEST option for changing exterior stucco color? (Want a tan/light grey color instead of yellowish gold)

    Use a paint formulated for stucco. All paint companies will make one. You may want to research paint before deciding. Think about warranty as well.

    I would paint it with a high quality stucco paint. But don't just use one color, make some of those nice architectural features your house has pop more out by using more then one color.

    May not be the best sample but if you check online you will probably find a lot of different two tone color schemes on exterior of houses.

    What you need to know, is the existing finish an acrylic finish (EIFS) or a cementitious stucco which has been painted (type?) ? The concept of "stucco paint" varies greatly amongst manufacturers. The existing needs to be clean (power washed) and the new pigmented coating applied.
