How much can an overloaded septic pump hold?

Based on the picture it seems like it would be somewhat wide and big enough to hold a huge load of stuff. To me, this is something very new to be able to see. Mostly because I hardly come across something like this. http://www.swenvironmental.com

    A septic pump can malfunction but it is a septic tank that can become overloaded. Typically, when the water is at the correct operating level at the outlet baffle, and not flowing out of the tank, an overloaded septic tank can hold a couple hundred gallons of solids, sludge, effluent etc.

    Oh hey, what a great information to know that septic tank can hold a couple hundred gallons of sludge when the water is at the correct level. Looking at the picture, what made this tank have such a dark color? It's something that sure got my attention that I do want to know more about. http://www.alhealdandsons.com/waste_water.html
