    Hello CJ,

We used true stone for this project. It was quarried tom TN. I do not use thin veneer stone as it is not that much cheaper (here at least), and there can be some issues with the product. It has the capacity to trap water behind it and cause serious water damage to a structure. Use drain plane behind the stone if you can. Also the material can fade a bit over time. They have gotten better, but still will have some issues over the long haul. IMHO real stone is still the way to go. On this project one of the more compelling things is that we made the stone "articulate" quite a bit. The stones project out 1"-2" in places really giving a dramatic look. This is also not possible with stone veneers.

Hope tha helps, and thanks for looking!
