Entry way ideas?!

Hi! My entryway feels like an afterthought... I am not attached to the console table; my husband dislikes the large painting. (This first pic is from our family room, the second pic is from me standing at the front door). I like a clean and modern look but not sure how to do that. Do I need something on the wall to the right of front door? How big of a something? Do I need a rug? If so, How big/long of a rug ? Thank you for any suggestions!

Could you fit a 4x6 or 3x5 rug by the door? Alternatively, you could do a runner in front of the console table. I like the idea of having art on the wall by the door. You could do a large mirror or clock above the console table, which would be functional and attractive. We have a large, unique clock that doubles as an art piece above the bench in our entry way.

You need a colorful rug and piece of Art on the wall behind the front door that coordinates :-)

Hola, somos una pareja madura, de los tres hijos que tenemos sólo quedan dos y se irán en un par de años, aunque vengan a comer los domingos. Nos cambiamos de casa para esta segunda etapa de la vida. Me gustaria que nos hablarais de los grandes electrodomesticos de la cocina; los mejor valorados en relación calidad- precio y la conveniencia o nó de usar dos en uno (horno - microondas, lavadora- secadora, frigorifico con/sin congelador y congelador aparte), gas, vitrocerámica o inducción, lavavajillas de 9 ó de 12. Estamos ilusionados con que la nueva y ultima casa de nuestra vida reuna las caracteristicas necesarias para que sea práctica y elegante al mismo tiempo y se respire paz y tranquilidad pero con ganas de emprender nuevos proyectos. Hi Cristina, your table looks very beautiful however I discourage to have such furniture at home because of the mirrors. I work as a feng shui consultant and I know that the mirrors have some kind of power and one should be very carful placing them in the house. My personal opinion is to have a mirror in the place where the mirror can´t see you while you are resting or sleeping because in long term it can have negative influence on you. The mirror was created to look at it and it shouldn´t be used extensively also because of the reflections of the light. The human eye naturally is used to see the light coming from certain directions, if it comes from the direction which is not used to the light, especially artificial one, it may effect your vision or have negative influence on your mood. I'm talking about something very subtle which sometimes may be felt after some time. Another thing is that I always encourage people to don´t use repetitive patterns in the house just simple irregular forms and calm and worm colours which make the space more cozy and more natural. If you need more help with the rest of your house please let me know. I could make a 3d visualisation of your place to shaw the layout. Best \Marcin

Hola!!! Espero no llegar tarde. El espacio se presta para muchas alternativas. Aqui te doy una hecha rapidamente. Claro que se puede mejorar, pero requeriria mas tiempo. De forma general, la idea propone no exponer de forma tan direta la cama. apenas abres la puerta y la tienes al frente. Cuantas veces nos da fastidio arreglar la cama? ademas de que la cama es un area intima y pues, tan expuesta a la vista... El area donde va ahora la cama esta mas formada, es "su espacio" donde puedes estar relajad@. La tina con vista sensual a la cama y las piezas del lavado cada una en su sitio y de uso particular (olores o total intimidad), en especial la ducha, que consta de dos areas: donde te lavas y otra en la que comodamente te sientas y terminas de secarte para pasar directamente al guardaropa a vestirte!! But you ob want something to change about it. So why not add a large white/cream/beady chandelier.

If you don't need the console table why not add 3d panels on the walls (one behind the front door and the other where the console is currently) and add a dramatic led strip light just above that will highlight the shadows. Very simple and very cleanDo you need a rug for people to wipe their feet? Try adding a tall mirror hanging on the wall by the front door. Under you may want to place a floating self or a narrow bench. If using a bench I suggest one that does not go to the floor, but rather is open to allow space to continue to feel grand.
I would hand the painting above the console table and add a rug just in front of the door for a little bit of pop.

So jealous of your crisp entryway! I am just about to ask about our mudroom/entry - it's too cluttered! I would suggest a rug, perhaps the chandelier or you could go with a large round mirror on the wall above the console then add two tall lamps on either side. Something glass or a colored glass that coordinates with your rug color. Perhaps some art, maybe something metal on the narrow wall to the right of the front door. Perhaps a standing plant or flowering plant on the right of the console to break up the squareness of the console. I would be hesitant to remove the console table from the entry.

Beautiful. that said I think your entryway lacks punch. The console is blah. A different console table with more presence with a rug to define the space and some color there.

I would add a large piece of modern art to the wall on the right as you are facing the door. A colorful rug, as previously suggested, would add that punch. Great space!

I really love your front doors and the color of them. I would play off of that gray and add a runner in front of the console table ( Approx 2.6 by 8 ) and keep things very simple. I like your console table from what I can see of it. It is hard to see it clearly in the picture you posted. I know you have a painting on it, but a mirror might be really nice above the console-it would reflect light in the room. Then you could do a modern canvas picture on the empty wall with a gray in it and other pops of color.

If you placed a mirror over the console table, maybe you could try hanging the painting on the wall by the door.....Just a suggestion.
