“I have used Adam for three jobs now. Once, as President of an HOA, where an exterior wall needed replacement. One of the unit owners was a highly respected and demanding architect; Adam was the first contractor who satisfied him. We then used him for a bathroom remodel, which was an infinitely better experience in terms of budget overruns, fit and finish, service and timelines to our previous bathroom remodels. Having watched too many episodes of HGTV, we bought a fixer. Adam looked it over with us, and then proceeded to over deliver on expectations every step of the way. Adam is sort of like a combination of Nordstroms and Holmes of Holmes on Homes. Any problems that you, the customer, has, he will fix. And there will be no bogus shortcut code violation techniques, not ever. His subcontractors are premium, and he knows when and how to keep in touch both personally and online. His budgets are realistic, and change orders are transparent and timely. He provides design guidance, but listens carefully to owner design choices. Things always hit glitches, but I did not worry about them. They always got resolved. If you want a cheap contractor to do things without permits, look elsewhere. If you are looking for availability in a top of the line contractor, I would check Throne Builders out.”

“In February 2023 I took 3 bids to tear down an old redwood deck and replace it with a Trex deck. I chose Rob Kurk Construction. His bid was very competitive. He had excellent references, great communication skills, he is professional and easy to talk with. He has good listening skills and responsive to my requests or changes. Rob and his crew built a beautiful 12'x80' Trex deck with iron railings and three flights of steps in the amount of time and price Rob had originally stated. “Ken McGrath and his team completely remodeled one bathroom for me and did such a great job that I hired him to redo my master bath as well! Both bathrooms were completely gutted and rebuilt. Ken is so easy going and great to work with. He has a good design sense too. I was struggling with how I wanted to tile my shower and he made suggestions that turned out beautiful! There are a lot of decisions that have to be made in a complete redesign and Ken helped through the entire process. Ken pays a lot of attention to all details and it shows in the end product. He re-textured my entire bathroom ceiling and walls rather than patch up old texture and it came out beautiful -- it really modernized the bathroom. Ken always lets me know what time he plans to show up and has not been late once! He and his crew work very efficiently and I don't see them wasting any time. Ken also quoted me a very fair price. He is there every day doing the work alongside his crew. I was also impressed with all his crew members -- they are all very nice, professional, and easy to work with. “I cannot say enough good things about Gary Woods owner of Woods Custom Builders/Woods Custom Kitchens!!! He started work on my house with a kitchen remodel. Ultimately, he remodeled my entire home and I would happily ask him to remodel another home and another and another - if only I had another... Specifically, he remodeled the following in my home: Kitchen Living Room Bedroom Closit Bathroom Great Room Gym Hobby Room Garage Now every room is absolutely beautiful and has a special touch or trademark that can be found nowhere else in the house - yet ties in with the rest of the house. In my front room there is a custom fireplace with tiles that tie into the kitchen. In the kitchen are two incredible tunnel skylights that tie in with the over all natural lighting throughout the home and in the bathroom the window is made with block glass that like the kitchen allows an incredible amount of light to come in. The bedroom has a TV mounted to a sliding piece of finished walnut - unique - cool - the wood ties in with the warm feeling of the home. The closit is 10x10 feet of wonderful storage - the entire house has tons of storage. The closit also has a solar tube that - again - allows for a lot of natural light. The garage colors match the inside of the house and so too does the great amount of storage that has been provided. The great room, gym and hobby room also allow for a lot of light and the colors tie in with the rest of the house. Gary converted an old brick outdoor BBQ into an incredible fireplace in order to maintain some of the history of the house! Gary is very creative and has a positive - get it done attitude. His subcontractors enjoy working with him - appreciate his schedule and do excellent work. Frankly, I think they try harder because they really like working with and for Gary! It is generally uncommon to hear compliments about a contractor/custom builder from subcontractors - but around this house throughout the project that was the norm. It gave me great faith in Gary and I was not disappointed. Gary communicates daily. He will call at the end of the day - send emails - leave voicemails and written notes. One never has to wonder where the heck is the contractor and what is going on. His communication is nothing short of excellent. Gary is scheduled and sticks to the schedule. So, when he says you can expect XYZ to occur on X date you may rest assured that will be the case. This level of committement is not easy to find. My house has been remodeled from a place I sleep to a wonderful, warm, inviting home. Thank you Gary Woods for the incredible old house turned into a custom new home!!!”
