“Don Bladja and his team at Koal PLLC have provided remarkably professional and creative work product for our home development efforts. It has been a joy to see our vision unfold with Don as he deftly works with our builder, his structural engineering partner, our cabinet maker, and others on our complex project. He has taken a very rough plan, started by another architectural firm with which we were unsatisfied, mixed in quite a number of unique and complicated requests from us along with forbidding site restrictions and has turned it into a detailed set of drawings that has "wowed" all with whom we have shared.
Our builder and his tradesmen have easily implemented our shared vision straight from Don's plans. Many of our complicated requests, including a float room, sauna, elevator, and golf simulator/theater/business conference room combination (to name just a few) started as simple ideas scribbled on a napkin. With Don's expertise and experience, he quickly showed us many alternatives; turning our crazy simple sketches into detailed plans that worked within our uniquely challenging house footprint. “We started off needing an architect to complete some routine as-built drawings for an inn we are renovating. We were amazed at how quickly and professionally Hiroko was able to complete this for us. During this project, we were struck by her vast understanding of code requirements and structural issues. She was also great for helping us understand the municipal process in NH. We also discovered she has an excellent design sense.
When we were ready to tackle a barn renovation with 40x60 addition to be used as a wedding venue, we had no doubt we would like to work with Lindsey Architects again. She is great at listening to what we want, giving us sensible advice and putting a design together that really works. “After meeting Gavin for the first time, I know our kitchen would be in good hands! We wanted to renovate our entire kitchen area, entranceway and at the same time, make it modern and practical for a family of 6. He gave us several different drawings and ideas and we collaborated on the final design. Through the entire process, his "designer" brain is always on! He is constantly trying to find the best fit for our needs and situation. He has a broad knowledge of not only architecture, but the entire design, permit, build, construction process. This is also why we loved working with him because he has a great sense of the cost required to complete our design and stay within our budget. Throughout the entire process, he was available by phone and email to coordinate, plan or fix small details. He worked seamlessly with the city to get our plans approved and permitted. It felt to us that our project was his only project and he knew every single detail probably better than us. We absolutely love our new kitchen and will for years to come! We will use him again for our stairway and upstairs renovation. I highly recommend Gavin for his amazing ideas, architectural skills, and positive attitude.”
