“I worked for Hawks Hollow Builders, and from the viewpoint of quality building, I can give them a very high recommendation. The guys I worked with were experienced professionals, who each took pride in a job done to the best of their abilities. Of course, many builders take pride in the detailing of a job - custom case work, or in building an oversized cedar timber porch, but at HHB, the guys frame a job in the best way they know how, never rushing through a project at the cost of thorough quality. These are the kind of guys who recognize that you might have to cut something more than once for it to fit right and look best.
The owners were on site often, reviewing what had been done with our boss (both our foreman and the owner of the company). In other words, they were very involved, and it was welcomed. They also were able to envision better what had been described on paper.
They also have a woodshop, run by one guy who's been there for many years. His skill for woodworking is incredible, and the doors and cabinets he builds are beautiful. If you are looking for creative minds, capable hands, and honest builders, I can recommend Hawks Hollow Builders.”

Derek from DS Construction came by and assessed the work that needed to be done - replacing the lattice under my side porch, replacing concrete walk along the house foundation, securing a drooping eave and reattaching a piece of loose siding. He was professional and knowledgeable about the scope of the work and provided a reasonable estimate. The crew was efficient and did high quality work. “We began working with Mike McKay of M-R Builder Inc. nine years ago when he built our home. He also provided my wife Joyce, who designed the home's interior with valuable suggestions and advice. The house was completed on schedule and on budget. Several years later, after our positive experience, we began a restoration project involving a number of historic stone barns adjacent to our home. The barns were all part of a 120 year old complex that had fallen into considerable ruin. To date Mike McKay has worked with us to design and restore one small stone cottage and is currently converting the old barns into several large homes. We have extensive photos of the project and are including pictures of the original barn complex as well as before and after photos of the project.”
