Rug Designer / Artist / Interior Designer I design high quality Tibetan rugs that Tibetan refugees weave in Nepal. Trained as an artist, I bring my sensibilities of scale, texture, form, and color to the table. I grew up surrounded by architects, designers and construction sites. I have a masters degree in sculpture and I am well versed in the language and process of building. I can converse with all members of the building team and often act as a translator/advocate for the client--moving easily between architect, builder and subcontractors. I often choose fixed finishes as well as furnishings. I believe a house is a complete entity therefore I respond to the architecture as well as the interiors-inside and out are considered simultaneously. I have been described as a classical modernist, but I don't insist on transposing my style onto my client. Rather, I take my client's needs and tastes to heart, and using those elements, I compose interiors based on integrity and timelessness. I am interested in larger jobs--$25K and above--but will also consult for an hourly fee.
