Doug did an outstanding job from start to finish! He was on time, thorough, did not pressure, came with suggestions, completed the job to the highest standards, and left the site perfectly clean. He created custom bookshelves with some nice touches such as built-in lighting and brass grommets. The finish of the wood is beautiful. I could not have asked for a better product. This is our 2nd time working with Doug for a kitchen remodel/update. For this project, Doug completed the following tasks: 1) Kitchen: Installed new wood vent; installed backsplash; painted cabinets; installed new crown molding on cabinet 2) Master bathroom: new drawer and door fronts; painted cabinets; painted mirror frames 3) painted cabinets in 4 full bathrooms. Everything looks amazing. Attention to detail is high. You cannot tell that the cabinets are painted. They look like they would in a custom home build. Doug is timely, works hard, and the end product looks amazing. As as Realtor in the local market, I see a lot of homes and a lot of remodels, so I am very picky on who I choose to work on my personal home. I have recommended Doug for years and will continue to do so.

Transformations by Doug is by far the most outstanding Contractor we have ever used. He has completed four large projects at our home. After the first project, we knew we never wanted anyone else to work on our home. He completely transformed our Family room with the first project. He designed a one of a kind shelving/cabinet display around our fireplace in our two story Family Room. It is stunningly beautiful and unique. The second project he did for us was a Fabulous L shaped cherry bar in our basement. He designed a fantastic full length bar that we use constantly. The third project he did for us was a White Display Cabinet so we could show off our Sports Memorabilia. He built it so that it sits in a perfect spot in the lower level and added lighting to attract attention. The fourth project he just completed was a complete Laundry Room Renovation. He customer built the cabinets and even added a drawer above our dog's eating space for additional storage. Doug is incredibly talented and he has outstanding design ideas. He is a perfectionist so you will get a tremendous finished product. He has our Highest Recommendation!

My job was small compared to many that Doug has done (one lower kitchen cabinet and cabinet door replacements), but he gave it the same care and attention I’m sure he gives to complete remodels. This is the second project we've worked on with Doug. Our first project was a beautiful wine bar in the dining room of our old home. When we moved to our new house, we knew we wanted to work on another project with him. Our basement had a completely open wall that was in need of a more effective use of space. Doug helped design and build a custom entertainment center to fill the space and allow us to maximize our use of the space.

My kitchen was severely showing its age and starting to fall apart. A friend of mine who was a home remodeler recommended Doug Roth with Transformations Custom Wood Design stating that he was one of the best cabinet guy he has ever worked with. I contacted Doug who came out and patiently listened to my concerns and ideas. We then discussed the pros and cons of my ideas and gave solutions to any issues. He then helped me through all the steps from various orderings of materials to installation. Some examples of his "global" involvement in my project included suggesting I use a under cabinet microwave oven that was only 10 inches tall so that it did not interfere with countertop space and making a kitchen island that had door on opposite sides that allowed us to more easily access our cook wares without having to reach so far in it from one side. He also added locking wheels on it so we could easily move it around when necessary due to the size of our kitchen. Doug installed the cabinets, backsplash, under cabinet lights and appliances. Due to age of the house (40 years old) and issues with my last remodeling job (that I did on my own), he had solutions and made one heck of a beautiful kitchen.

Absolutely, worth the wait! Doug is the real deal, a true professional. His attention to detail is remarkable. He turned our plain kitchen island into a masterpiece. He took care of all the coordination between his work and the granite supplier. Doug was very much available throughout the process and communicated well ahead if there were to be any changes. He was there when he said he would be there. Doug is a super trustworthy. No issues with leaving the house while he worked. He was always patient and courteous if any changes needed to be made. Doug has done two jobs for us, master bathroom and kitchen. We love working with Doug on our projects and will continue to use him for any future projects we might have. Doug Roth is a perfectionist and professional! The custom woodwork he does is amazing. He put custom wood feet on the bottoms of my fireplace mantle (which hid the floor tile mistakes I created). There were so many cuts he made and it looks perfect. He was so quick, I was amazed. Doug recently painted my builder grade cabinets white, an oak 1/2 wall top white and replaced terrible plywood (swollen, broken, unclean, didn’t match white baseboards) with white shoe molding for a beautiful, seamless transition. I would highly recommend Doug for ANY project you have! He truly is exceptional and excellent at his craft. I will definitely be using Doug again for projects in my home.

Doug is phenomenal. From the very beginning, he listened to what we wanted and he dreamed our vision with us. Doug helped remodel our master bathroom, he took our vision on paper and turned it into exactly what we wanted in real life. My husband did the demo and Doug tiled the entire shower, (Flooring, walls, niches, and benching), and it turned out absolutely amazing. He took his time and made sure everything was perfect . We worked with Transformations Custom Wood Design (Doug Roth) to remodel our kitchen. Doug was awesome to work with. He designed our island for us and then when we wanted to make changes to it he worked through those with us. Doug also replaced the cabinet doors, painted the cabinets, installed a backsplash among a few other things. The island was the center piece and he built that from scratch. It has a number of cool items in it that we would never have thought to include that we just love. Doug was very easy to work with and has really good ideas to help move the project along. We had another contractor onsite that was doing some demo work and floors and Doug worked with him to make sure everything ran smoothly. Everything ran smoothly and on time. We could not be happier with Doug and the work that he did. Our kitchen look fabulous and everyone is very happy with the end result. One last thing that I liked about working with Doug was that he communicated very well through the entire process. Whether that be sending text messages or pictures of the work he was doing offisite. I also knew his schedule and when he was going to be at the house. I never felt like I was in the dark or wondering where he was or what he was doing. Great experience and could not be happier!

Doug completed a kitchen remodel for us. He built custom-made cabinets to replace our dated desk with a modern bar and increased storage by the pantry. Additionally, he painted our cabinets, upgraded the countertops and added subway tile as a backsplash. I hired Doug to transform a very dated bar area in my condo. He came to my home with multiple samples of cabinets and stains to incorporate my existing cabinetry into the new project. He offered suggestions when I got stuck, and LISTENED when I wanted to incorporate my pretty glassware by building in shelving to display them. He went over and beyond by talking to the firm I was purchasing the refrigerator from, to help me with the dimensions and style. The final result was as promised (beautiful) and before the time agreed on.

Came up on Doug and Transformations Custom Wood Design by way of his wife, Stephanie, who I had just met. In our conversation she mentioned Doug did renovation work. After having had 3 other company's come look at our project (master bath renovation), not one of them reconnected with us to give even a quote. Within a day or two of meeting/talking with Stephanie, we received a call, setup a time, discussed the work, signed the contract and finally we were on our way to getting our spa like master bath. Doug listened to what "I" had in mind and then made some suggestions. It was great getting someone else's ideas on how to rework the space. Once the work started, Doug would always arrive around the same time every morning unless he had to pickup supplies but he always told us before he left the evening before. Doug is meticulous in his work. At the end of each day he called us to the space to show what he did that day and what he was looking to do the next day. The end result is awesome!! I have already talked to him about giving me an estimate for another project!

It's only natural that I begin, and will perhaps end, this review with Doug - the engineer, artist, inspiration, talent and gentle human being behind TransformationsByDoug! We found Doug through the internet and were at first skeptical about how this engagement would go since we had spoken to a couple of other people who were offering to do the same work for us. Being a brand new home builder and being new to Mason, Ohio, we were not very sure whether we should go with someone who is a one-man-shop or hire a contractor from a named builder, etc. All our anxieties were put to ease upon our very first meeting with Doug, who started the discussion with a written statement about his commitment to quality and transparency with contracting. He interviewed us about the work we wanted performed and made some suggestions that had not occurred to us, but made a lot of sense. Doug came back with estimates and a couple of different pricing options along with recommendations of how we could split the work to be done immediately, in the near future and then in the longer term. We agreed to a plan and Doug started the work immediately. Since were going to move into the home in a few days, Doug planned in such a way that he completed the crown molding in areas such as the kitchen and living areas that were needed by us from the beginning. For this, he spent a couple of 18+ hour work days at the site!! The project was completed in just under 3 weeks. Doug arrived and left on time and was very professional in communicating is availability during the course of the assignment. It was a joy to have him around in the house as he is a very friendly person who not only interacted so well with our family (kids aged 5 and 9) but also taught me so many tricks of the trade about carpentry in general. His demeanor was really pleasing and we were very comfortable with him. Doug installed over 300 feet of crown molding in our home and a coffered ceiling that just blew us away! The workmanship was immaculate, the finish pristine and the art, inspiring! What was most amazing was the fact that he accomplished so much single-handedly, especially the coffered ceiling in a room that measures 22 x 22 feet and the height of the ceiling is about 20 ft!. He was adept with his saws, tools, ladders, etc and neat and clean in maintaining the workplace (our garage) and the work area (the home!). Doug suggested some paint options that we had not though about, but which when completed, really accentuated the wood work and brought it to life! I threw in a couple of extra requests while Doug was onsite (like installing some cabinets in the laundry and chandeliers in the entry-way and the living room - both 20 ft tall) and he did not even batter an eyelid :-) All in all, I was really impressed with the work Doug did and would strongly recommend him to anyone in the Cincinnati region who would like to transform their home! The end product will be remarkable, but what you may not realize, is that the "journey" will be so fulfilling too! Doug - thank you, THANK YOU!

Doug was recommended by another contractor doing other work. He did an amazing job. Ours was the Master Bath project shown here. The vanity and tub facing were done to impeccable standards. He added touches that just made it perfect. The pull out shelves / bottle storage, are design features he added to match the pillars on our bedroom furniture! A great guy, with a great finished product.

Doug is a contractor I will use again, again and again. I have used him twice so far and have been totally satisfied. The knowledge of his craft and attitude with his client is unparallel. He made an error in measuring and was more upset than I was. This tells me he is a perfectionist in his craft. The problem was immediately addressed to my satisfaction and his. He is always on time for appointments and communicates well before, during and after the project. I will definitely use him again.

Doug saved the day. We had our basement finished inclusive of a custom built maple bar. The sub that stained the bar ruined the bar top, so much so that it could not be correct. After a lengthy search, we were directed to Doug (via a referral) and wish we would have known about him sooner. Doug rebuilt the bar top, stained and reinstalled. Words cannot describe the finished product. It turned out perfect. We have had so many compliments. I searched long and hard to find someone to get this right and I am telling you, no one in Cincinnati is doing what Doug does. We used Doug Roth for some shelves and a mantle in our old house. We have recently moved and are going to use him again to do almost the same exact project in our new house. The owner of Transformations is a friend whom I have come to know through our church home. So, I knew a bit of Doug's character for integrity, professionalism, and commitment before we selected him to do our Family Room Coffered (Beamed) Ceiling. He wants to ensure that the customer is fully on board with the plan before any work begins, and is great on the follow-up end too. He worked with us to find a way to make the project pricing more cost effective by offering different materials and finishes approaches. I was truly amazed at his skills and took great pleasure in working with him providing support during the installation of the ceiling. We collaborated on the new ceiling and bar colors beforehand in order to match the mahogany coloration of the manufactured bar that was present when we purchased the home. I pre-painted the ceiling, and he did the same at his shop with all the materials to 'build up' the beams at our job site. This saved time and minimized the disruption in our home as the project moved forward. The outcome is 'simply elegant' and we are so glad we had the opportunity to do this project with Transformations (Doug).

Transformations Custom Wood Design was hired by my contractor to manufacture (and match) back cabinetry and a canopy to a preexisting bar in the lower level of my house. Doug worked diligently to meet a challenging time schedule and was able to perfectly match the color and design to the existing unit. The contractor left the job before the work was complete, still owing Doug 50% of the agreed upon contract price. Thankfully Doug stayed with the project through completion, making sure every detail was handled and I, the customer was happy with the end result. Doug is a true professional.
