Palmer Gas & Oil Company

Palmer Gas & Oil delivered home heating oil to my house without my knowledge or consent. Oil was marked up 50 cents over going rate. When I called I was told " You should be thankful, the price is already up 50 cents, and will go up another 50 cents next week ." I have never dealt with such manipulative, and deceptive business practices. Let alone the constant emails, and calls demanding payment for something I never ordered.

Stay far away from them! They aren't cheap and they let my house go cold over a lousy $81.60 bill that I never received in the mail or email. When they always send the bills both ways. It started when I told them I needed a new gas valve for my stove and told them to make sure their repair guy brings a new one. The repair guy shows up here with no valve, rips apart my stove, tells me I need a new valve and left. That's what the $81.60 bill that I never got was for even though he did nothing but tell me what I already knew! Then one day my house goes cold even though I'm on autofill. I called to ask why I'm out. They tell me it's because of the $81.60 bill that I didn't pay even though I never received the bill. I explained what happened and that: 1. I never got the bill 2. The guy showed up didn't fix anything which I thought was bs. 3. And they let my house go cold over a few bucks? After I told them this they pretty much said "too bad so sad" So I had to order an "emergency delivery of 40 gals" as my house was freezing and this is all that they could give me. They charged me for the 40 gals plus $180.00 emergency fee! I have been a customer for over 3.5 years. I always pay my bill on time and within 10 days to get their small discount and this is how they treat me? You should be ashamed of yourselves!!! I'm going to Eastern Propane.

Find another company. They want $130 to deliver to you off schedule if you are about to run out of oil! Outrageous!!! Plus their customer service folks are rude. Used them 10 years with a few issues along the way and yesterday was the final straw. Moved on to a company that wants my business and will be respectful.

We are new to the New England area and had never had to deal with oil and propane services prior to moving here so I went off a recommendation from a neighbor on who to use. So far the service has been better than expected. While it was a bit tedious to get the account set up over the phone rather than inputting the information through an online application the representative was friendly and quick making the process a little less painful. We had our initial inspection of our equipment and the technician that came out was very thorough and patiently answered my 500 questions about how these systems run and even options on how to better improve them. We have autodelivery and they have the schedule down so that we never drop below a quarter of a tank of oil before they refill which is a nice piece of mind to have when it is in the negative numbers outside.

We recently changed our carrier of home heating oil. It took us a while to get an appointment because we waited to long to call. In order for Palmer to put oil in the tank they had to inspect the tank and piping which I respect very much. We had them clean our furnance and was quite pleased, it was the best cleaning my furnace has had. The gentlemen explained to me the problem we were having with the furnace and what needed to be done. I would highly recommend this company to take care of your heating needs. I felt that they treated me honestly.
