Couldn't be happier with our kitchen remodel. Great attention to detail, and old house know-how to deal with all of the complications that arise when renovating a historic home.

Mclaughlin & Buie have delivered three successful projects in our historic home in East Greenwich, RI. We have been complely satisfied with the plans, work and working arrangements. Dan and Glen are respectful, honest and deliver quality work. I highly recommend them for residential carpentry, project management, design and build work. Our first project was a bedroom makeover with bathroom. The project dramatically transformed our second story with new plumbing, electric fixtures, flooring, tile and shower plus finish carpentry work with painting for finish. Our second project was more extensive, adding a four season room with bar, entertainment center, seating and fish tank. The project brlliantly upgraded our first floor space and improved our home substantially. The last project was a re-hab of our kitchen. The project re-surfaced our cabinets and added a wonderful window in addition to working and rehabbing our wood floors. Great guys with quality work!

We selected McLaughlin and Buie Housewrights to work with us to design a small second home in Little Compton, RI. Glenn was wonderfully easy to work with, and intuitively grasped the ethos we were going for in our design. His calm nature and excellent listening skills made us confident that he was designing what we wanted, not what he wanted us to want. He worked patiently with our out-of-the-box ideas, and saved us from ourselves when necessary. Our project will be built in stages, and Glenn provided detailed construction drawings for our first phase, and concept drawings for our future phases. We were sorry they were not available to also to our build - hopefully next time, when we add the next section.

You will not find a better contractor in RI for historic house renovations. Dan is a true professional and will walk you through all the steps of the process. He is also a GREAT guy to get to know - always engaging with our children and is truly interested in making the construction process as easy as possible for families. With our kitchen renovation project, Dan and his team created a makeshift "kitchen" in our dining room complete with a working sink - truly made the transition so much easier. It was fantastic. Dan has done two projects for us and in neither case did the price ever increase - I think that comes from great planning beforehand on the part of Dan and his team and be crystal clear about what the project scope will be exactly. He has done over $200K worth of work to my home and I wouldn't hesitate to bring him back for more!

McLaughlin & Buie Housewrights worked on the renovation and expansion of our house in Saunderstown RI over a five year period during the fall, winter and spring months when we were not using it. The quality of their work and assistance with design was consistently exceptional in all respects. In addition, they were always available to discuss construction and design idea and completed the work as scheduled. Dan McLaughlin and Glenn Buie exhibit the highest standards of personal integrity and are very pleasant to be with. My husband and I hired McLaughlin & Buie Housewrights to draw up plans for an accessory building on our property. We had some very clear ideas on how we wanted to use the space. Mr. Buie took all of our ideas into account when drawing up the plans and was responsive to the changes we wanted to make after the first set of plans. Mr. McLaughlin assisted us in navigating the permitting process with our local zoning board and building office as we needed a zoning variance and there are new hurricane building codes in effect which had to be incorporated into the design. My husband is a builder and he used the plans to construct the building which is now nearly complete. McLaughlin & Buie were very easy to work with, they had very good design ideas and made excellent suggestions as to how we could improve on our ideas and best use the limited space we had to work with. We are very happy with the results.
