I have known Mark for approximately 14 years and have had the privilege to work together for purposes of painting or cleaning for him and have seen the pride and quality he puts into his truly amazing work Mark can personalise any small or large project and takes pride in all he does He is a true perfectionist and gentleman. Mark is a true craftsman, and frankly, a woodworking genius. I have no worked with Mark on multiple projects in my home --- a fireplace surround and mantle, built-in cabinets in my living room, and most recently a custom, built-in trundle bed. Mark worked closely with me on the design, refined it to be better and more attractive, and created something absolutely beautiful. When he finished the most recent project at my house I joked with him that I needed a bigger house just so I had more rooms for him to transform with his incredible work. Would absolutely work with Mark again in a heartbeat and plan on doing so in the future.

Mark transformed our kitchen! We had heard of Mark’s incredible reputation as a designer and builder. We had a generic 1960’s kitchen and wanted to transform it into a French Country farmhouse look. He did it! The very first time we met, he told us everything wrong with the kitchen design. He was right, and he had solutions for every issue (and there were some really big issues). Mark built the hickory beams and stained them in a way that makes them feel like they have been here for a hundred years. We ordered our new cabinetry and the kitchen guy we worked with really messed up. Mark had a ton of major adjustments he had to make to make everything work. It was amazing to watch him figure out solutions for every problem that made the kitchen even better than planned. He created three shelving units for spices, oils and recipe books to make up for mistakes, but made the kitchen even better than planned. He saved us at least $10,000 by recommending suppliers that sold materials at much lower costs than our original estimates. The quality of all the materials were first rate and the kitchen is fabulous. We had a really weird door in the kitchen to a half closet. He created what we call our famoire (faux-armoire). It literally transformed the kitchen and this closet into a beautiful piece of furniture. We just had our first party and the kitchen was the center of all the activity. Everyone LOVED it. It works beautifully, it’s fun to cook in and a terrific social setting. Finally, I’ve never seen a human being work harder than Mark. I’ve had several houses built and I have never seen anyone work harder or longer hours to bring the job in on time (and in our case) under budget. I highly recommend Mark. He’s a joy to work with, a truly creative problem solver and someone who treats your job like it was his own home.

Mark is a very creative builder. My wife and i interviewed many builders and Mark was by far the most creative. He made optimal use of the limited space we had. When friends and family enter this 120 yr old lakefront cottage they are amazed at the transformation. He came highly recommended from a coworker of mine. He is a true craftsman. Thank you Mark.

Absolutely LOVE the work that Mark did for us, with our dining room project. I found Mark to be very respectable, detail oriented, and extremely knowledgeable. Mark agreed to take on my little project, even though I know he had many other larger jobs he was scheduling, at the time. The quality of Marks work is exceptional. He is truly skilled at what he does. Just as important, he showed up on time, and also stayed late to ensure the project was completed in the time frame we discussed. He took on this project right before the holidays and I needed this completed before Thanksgiving! Mark came through for us! Prompt response for an extensive water damage project that affected our main floor and living space. Itemized billing much appreciated. A couple of changes along the way on our end (as expected) as we tweaked what we wanted, and he was very accomodating to all we asked. Even delayed some finish work for other contractors to complete their work, all the while continuing work on other projects we know he had in the works. We upgraded basic walls and ceiling to wainscoting and a coffered ceiling. As you'll see in the pictures he's a fine craftsman, very skilled in word working. His workers were equally skilled. We highly recommend him for any and all general contractor work.

Mark and his crew totally remodeled the second floor of my circa 1908 Adirondack camp. He had great recommendations of wood choices and more. The goal was to modernize (and get rid of mice that had taken residence, as the camp is in the woods) but to absolutely make it look like it was always there and period appropriate. There would be no sheetrock. We ended up with pine and hickory walls and ceilings. Mark was able to blend uneven floors that had not lined up in probably 100 years! He built hickory plank doors in the rustic style of the rest of the house as well. He works to please.

In 2005, Ed and I were able to buy our dream home. We had spent many evenings driving through the neighborhood, thinking how wonderful it would be to live there. After years of saving, and a disasterous attempt at building a new home, we bought a house built in 1930 that is in a beautiful preservation district. Over the years, we have put our own touches on the house, with a partial makeover of the kitchen in 2010. By 2017, we realized that it was time to do something really special. After consulting with one of the top kitchen designers in our area, we just felt disappointed with their lack of vision. Cost was not a concern, but we needed someone who understood how special this house is, and would be treat it with respect. Ed mentioned our plans to one of his favorite clients, and he recommended that we call Mark. We had found our inspiration. Interestingly, and not related to our kitchen, our ancestors are from Sonnino, a beautiful hilltop village outside of Rome, Italy. What a small world! At that point, I knew this was meant to be. Our original plan was to update the cabinets and countertops. When Mark came in, he instantly saw something much more special. Even though his vision was a bit more than we wanted to do, we never had a second thought about the plan. We put all of our faith in Mark and his main craftsman, Mike. He also convinced us to have all of the hardwood floors on our 1st floor refinished and stained a darker color. As a family with 3 dogs and 4 cats, we had no idea how we would manage to take on such a huge project. Mark invited us to stay for a week at his lovely home in the Adirondacks with our dogs so the floors could be done without interruption. The floors are absolutely beautiful and it was truly worth the time and expense. After 9 weeks of noise, dust, Mark's singing, and living in our basement, our kitchen looks like something out a a magazine. We saw a wall unit in Ballard Design, but it was too large for our space, We showed Mark and he built the exact piece to scale for our kitchen. There were so many cool touches that we wouldn't have thought about. The under-cabinet lighting (dimming too!) works with just a swipe of our hands. Some cabinets required some customization, and Mark was able to take them to his shop and fit them to the space. There are so many little things that made this project so special. We would be happy to open our home to anyone who is thinking of working with Mark. We not only appreciate Mark's vision and work, but we've come to think of him as a friend.

We hit the jackpot when we discovered Mark Frateschi on Houzz! Last year we purchased a camp and proceeded to interview 4 contractors/firms before hiring Mark to enlarge a bedroom and a bathroom. He set himself apart immediately by his sense of artistry, vision and creativity; he is an idea person. When he looks at a space he does not see what is there, rather, he sees what could be there. He is a good communicator and responds to phone calls and emails. He is very knowledgeable of resources and materials in the area. His crew was amazing, efficient, neat and courteous. Mark has years of experience in this industry and is very talented in all aspects of the execution. Our project grew in scope once we heard some of his ideas and saw what he was capable of. He is an accomplished craftsman and replicated existing wood walls so that the remodel is flawless. He also perfectly matched a kitchen cabinet and built others from scratch. He can truly do anything. Designing for a small space with odd angles posed several challenges. He was always innovative and energized by thinking "outside the box". A special project was making bunk beds to accommodate adult guests. They are gorgeous! A few times during the remodel, we needed to trust Mark and take a "leap of faith". We were never disappointed with the results. His instincts are spot on, and you can trust him to do what will look best and add value to your property. He transformed our camp into a cottage and the results are stunning. We not only miss having him around, we miss his music as well. We look forward to working with him on our next project. Without reservation we recommend him highly!

Mark is an artist with incredible vision. He is a gift to his craft. Always on time and an honest person. Beautiful workmanship, you won't be disappointed.

We found Mark by viewing his previous projects on Houzz.com. We shared photo ideas of what we wanted our remodeled room to look like. Mark was able to take the photo, our verbal ideas, and his expertise to create a gorgeous study. We also had him add wainscoting to our dining room and update the moulding in our foyer to match the study. We will be having him come back in a couple of months to add a custom made staircase railing. His craftsmanship is top notch. Mark has a good personality and is trustworthy. We felt very comfortable leaving our home for vacation while Mark completed the front of the house project. We would recommend Mark for any woodwork project big or small!
